It seems the ever-widening (-deepening?) consensus is that PremRad messed up big time in not throwing so much money at Knapp that he simply had to take the C2C hosting job. Just imagine how different things would have been. Or maybe even still could be...

It's a real shame.  Of course, Knapp is mainly a "UFO guy" but he usually does a great job, no matter the subject.  He actually seems interested in most of the topics he's handed and is professional enough to put the time and effort into the show, no matter what he has to work with.  He's surprised me on some occasions when he's obviously been handed a goofy topic and still manages to make it interesting, as opposed to Jorch, who can take the most interesting topic and make it a goofy mess.

Knapp, doesn't necessarily have the best "bedside manner," as a really smooth radio host, such as Art, but I'll take his obvious intelligence, interest, dedication, and professionalism any day over the incompetent, lizard lounge wannabee Noory.  Noory would have been better suited for one of those morning kiddie shows from the '50s and '60s.  Something like "Capt. Noory's Playhouse."  ::)

Quote from: Eddie Coyle on January 28, 2013, 07:45:25 PMHere's the upside. IF Noory could ever get a real TV show, he'd be gone in a flash.
that was probably what foolish Noory thought would have happened to him before now.
his original Dec 2012 planned date to leave late-night radio, probably expected he would follow Larry King's example.
Larry King was the king of late night radio years ago until CNN gave him his own TV talk show and he left radio for good...

What's funny about Larry King(besides the wig, marriages) is that he got the CNN job in June, 1985, but still continued the late night radio show through 1992. It was when he tried to shift to late mornings/daytime in early '93 is when his radio career basically stalled out.

Ever the pessimist I am. If Noory did get a hit TV show, the douche would probably be like Larry and continue to torture us nightly. Greedy ringworm that he is.

Yes another excellent program by George Knapp.  Knapp at his worst is better than noodle brain at his best.  Oh wait, sorry George Knapp, you would have to be worst than worst than worst to have a day that will equal a noodle brain good day.   :)
A good day for noodle brain would be the day he masters the art of nuking pizza rolls.
George Noory. The Frank Burns of talk radio hosts...
Back to topic: I like the way Knapp followed up by getting John Leer on the phone. Thats the type of thing Art did back in the day. I think Leer is a complete loon, but it made for good radio anyway, and he did add to the overall discussion. Great show...

very interesting.
and the early 90's is when Art Bell started to go national and took over latenight radio - Larry King opened the door for him...

As an insomniac kid of the 80's, I say in all seriousness, Noory couldn't carry Larry King's jock. Larry's worst night was better than "peak" Noory. Larry's fill-ins after his annual heart attacks like Tom Snyder, blow Noory out of the water.

Tom Snyder's was one of my favorites. Knapp is almost like him. I enjoyed last nights show. I heard up until the break at 3AM.

Kids are more discerning than given credit for - I can't picture George doing a good job at anything related to TV, radio or the movies.

I`d be willing to bet that has been - at one time or another -  a topic of conversation at Premier. Everyone knows GK is quite content at KLAS. However, it`s my belief that if he were extended the right offer (control of the show format, content, guest hosts, etc.) along with the proper flexibility, he could still remain at KLAS doing special investigative projects, albeit on a more selective basis.

Can you imagine GK on M-F and Art picking up Sat and Sun Or even JUST Sat.? Maybe find another up-and-coming talent for Sun.

After reading the latest posts I want to say, once again, how happy I am to have found this thread/site after 10 years of yelling at the show. This is so much better, comrades.

I just want to see Jorch kicked-out of C2C to a third rate St. Louis kiddie show where he has to dress in a humiliating costume and have the kids throw trash at him during lame skits with Tommy dressed as a farm animal.  ;)

That would be the perfect combination of hosts to get the show back to where it was.

Anybody notice on Sunday night's show with Knapp, during the Cameron interview (great, by the way) after teasing the Lear appearance coming up, they came out of the break with a replay of the entire previous segment (Wilbert Smith, MJ12, Bob Lazar, etc.)? WTF? Maybe it was a glitch at my local station.

Yes, it was a glitch.......because Knapp interviewed Lear and Cameron for about 10 to 15 minutes.....Lear then left the interview and Knapp continued with Cameron only.

Thanks. Thought it might be. Noticed a similar thing on an earlier show.

Finally got to listen to the show yesterday and I must say it was a little disappointing.  I love Knapp as host.  I also like Dolan and even a crazy John Lear every once in a while is fine but there was to much packed into one show.  The main guest was sooooooo interesting yet it seems like Knapp was doing everything in his power not to focus on him.  I hope they have Grant Cameron back for a solo show someday.

The first hour guest was horrible!  Knapp did his best but it seemed like all he could get out of her was a few one word answers.

As I have posted again and again....Knapp rocks....period!  Yep, the first guest was "difficult".....BUT AT LEAST KNAPP DIDN'T DUMP HER!  He manages through with intelligence,  grace and skill!  We didn't have to listen to Joshua (who is fine....but, come on.....) or Lional (who is OK....but, come on....).....Knapp is a GROWN UP and is adept at taking the situation and making it "work" to the best of his ability.  He doesn't "run away" and lean on some other guest to pick up the program.

I am soooo sad that Knapp, Simone, Wells, or Punnett aren't hosting for Sunday night.  Another Sunday night of disappointment.

She rambled and couldn't get much out that was coherent, which is a shame, because she touched on a few of the best UFO stories I've heard in a while, and her book is supposed to be pretty good.

Here's one of the stories in her book, read by the hosts of a great podcast (they're Ausies and thought "Ardy" was a man's name). It's about an old man in a cabin who befriended occupants in a downed craft. Fun stuff. (audio is heavily downsampled)

This is excellent observation.  I agree with all of it.  I do love GK.

As Rush fans would say, "ditto."

Hands down, Knapp is the best host on C2C. That's probably part of why he gets so little air time; he doesn't want a lot to do with the train wreck Snorge has created and Snorge doesn't want a lot of quality hosting because it emphasizes how snoorrible Snorge is.

You head it dead center,George Knapp is a hell of a lot better than Noory!

First Half: Joining George Knapp, primary investigator of the Phoenix Lights phenomenon, Dr. Lynne Kitei, will discuss new evidence that demonstrates the lights were seen days before the mass sighting.

2nd Half: Lon Strickler, paranormal researcher and creator of the website Phantoms and Monsters, speaks about his most recent research subjects including Bigfoot, an alien encounter in Connecticut, and a claim made by a miner in the Yukon Territory that he was infected by an ET life form.

Oh man, that should be great! Lon Strickler's blog is really fun to read.

How could I possibly respect Knapp when he not only has this nutjob woman regarding Bigfoot DNA on national radio, when even the tiniest bit of research would reveal the following:

Her company, DNA Diagnostics, Inc., located at 569 Bear Dr, Timpson, TX 75975-4072, is closed with a for-sale sign in front of the building. Her phone is disconnected, and the Better Business Bureau gives her company an F, with numerous complaints against her and her company. You can see this info, plus read the complaints if you desire, here:

Additionally, this so-called "expert" is not a geneticist or similarly credentialed PhD - she is a veterinarian - DVM, Veterinary Medicine, Texas A&M University,  1974â€"1978

Why in the fuck do I have to do this, instead of a lowly radio producer, who could then pass it on to the host so as not to be embarrassed; unless you're a shameless corporate shill like all other C2C hosts. Even as a host, I'd do it myself to be sure to retain whatever credibility I may have earned. Bastards. All of them.

UPDATE: Hmmm... more Knapp bullshit

Darn it, Hal.  I'm completely torn between telling you to back off my dear, sweet George Knapp or telling you "nice catch."

Nice info, HAL 9000. I sent George Knapp a message also stating my disappointment in his allowing Ketcham a free platform without challenge. Here's a few experts that really can't be ignored in their inability to make any sense of the "bigfoot" DNA data: a scientest from the Human Genome Project, a Princeton University geneticist, and a human origins expert at New York University - http://blog.chron.com/sciguy/2013/02/what-do-geneticists-think-of-the-bigfoot-paper/comment-page-1/
