Whacked on PCP or something similar would be my guess. I had a somewhat similar experience in the 70s when I lived in a big apartment bldg; a guy from the other end of the hall went nuts and was kicking doors in. The Sheriffs got him before he got to our end of the hall. We moved.

A similar thing happen to me in the mid 80s. A guy hopped up on something started kicking in doors at my apartment building. Lucky I wasn't home as he would have been pumped so full of lead you would have mistaken him for a slice of Swiss cheese.

I too moved not long after that incident.
