Just got in.  Howdy NIT, where you been?

Do you think all is well here in America?  I don't think you do.  I gotta be honest, this is not the America I grew up in.  Nor is it the one I left home to serve.  America should have grown greatness, not sunk in depravity.
Ah, well, gotta get some coffee.
Hey Paladin1991!! Been working a lot lately. I try to read up where I can, but we're in the lull between Thanksgiving and Christmas shopping, so I thought I'd bring some holiday cheer back to the Politics boards!

You're right; this isn't the America I grew up in, either.  I was born in '69, so for me that might be something different than for you.
I thought by now we'd be leading the exploration of Mars, have a base on the moon, cured most cancers, eliminated hunger and poverty, and had a world of opportunity for people to grow without fear of war.  I mean, what was the point of spending ourselves into super power status, anyway?  I thought that once the damn Soviets choked that the world would opt for democracy.  Naive me.

We are only just now developing the technology to replace optic nerves with cybernetic implants:

We are just now developing exo-skeletons to help people walk:

We may finally have a drug in the pipeline to cure leukemia:

But there is so much more to do.  For me, I have hope, because we are getting more energy independent, we are looking to end diseases, we are slowly addressing inequality issues.

Every Ferguson (no matter what side you come down on) seems like irreconcilable differences, until you see something like this:

or this:

...and you realize there is good, justice, and hope in the world.
