new UK visa cards can be fooled into approving "transactions" of up to 999,999.99 (euros?) ,in spite of any limits.

Well at least you have to go through the steps of hacking it.   With our credit cards, you just "approve them" without any extra steps.   It's amazing to me how unsecure cards are, and how little cops/credit companies care if they're stolen and used.
