Sgt. Tamoressi home

At long last.  I am  glad this kid's ordeal is over. I can't remember if there is already a thread on this.

I really identified, because the kind of driver I am, taking a wrong turn at the Mexican border is exactly the kind of thing I would do.

It is a sorry state of affairs when  the 'administration' could not take a few minutes to call  the Mexican president  and get the guy out long before now.

Imagine any other President leaving him to rot there all this time.

pate

I thought his name was GunSgt: 'Murica!

Still, glad this under realized story Marine has had a storybook ending...

I`ve been down that same road that Tamoressi traveled before he crossed the border. It can be a bit confusing, especially if there are a lot of vehicles on the road.

It`s just a disgrace that our chump of a President couldn`t be bothered to get this guy out of Mexican prison. What may be equally disturbing is the fact that -- To my knowledge -- there hasn`t been a single "journalist" to ask Obama why he didn`t do more.

I`m having a difficult time deciding which is more outrageous; Obama not making any effort to spring the kid, or the "press"  not making any effort to find out why.

pate

Hey, how about a nod or salute to a fellow brother.

Apparently, from what I heard, it was the Mexican (forgive me if I get the title wrong) Attorney General who had a big audience with the Mexican Supreme Court Justice (again forgive) that led to this man's release to US Custody...

Don't forget that a finding of PTSD was the last reason, i.e. if United States Justice has a thing to say about it, the citizen will never hold a legal firearm in his hands...

That's just me being paranoid or/and conspiratorial BTW...

God bless the Marines.

pate

Not saying that the Marine, the AG (of Mexico) or whichever were or had ever heard of graduates of the School of Americas that is somewhere...

VtaGeezer

Good thing he didn't miss the exit the previous six times he went to TJ.  Did he get his three guns and 400 rds back?

What the hell does this mean?  And maybe the Mex AG has never eaten lutefisk.  What does that mean?
Be coherent when you post.  It helps me pay attention.

That's a blast from the past - I don't think I've heard of anyone bring up the School of the Americas since the '80s, when the Lib's were supporting the Cuban and Soviet backed thugs and murderers in Central America

Yeah, it pops everyso often. It hasn't even been called that for over a decade. Now called WHINSEC. Having said that so many turn coat and join cartels or prove to be corrupt leaders in their home countries I'm not a big fan of WHINSEC or other joint training operations with 3rd World countries. Too much "green on blue" attacks, people joining radicals or cartels, and training then turned against us. The anti-leftist stuff and keeping insurgencies down in the past I didn't mind as much.
Glad Tamoressi got home and hope he recovered from the Mexican abuse and whatever PDST or issues he might've had. I hope his release wasn't a secret backroom deal by Obama to release more illegal criminals in our midst or do some grand amnesty to criminal aliens.

HUGE shout out to Montel Williams and Fox News. Without the impressive efforts of both  in this struggle to bring Sgt. Tamoressi home, I suspect he would still be languishing away in a filthy Mexican prison.

President Obama should be ashamed of himself. But, that's asking way too much. He has no shame. He's a disgrace. A disgrace to this country, and to the office of President of the United States.

*long measuring look at albrecht*  Hmmmm, here's one who knows[/i] about SOA.

I don't suppose you've ever been there, Herr Albrecht?

You seem to confuse kennen, wissen, & können. German, and many other languages, are so much more precise with regard to terms about "knowing" things. I won't say which is applicable, but almost everyone who has been around a while knows of the School. Even if it just from the protestors etc. But back on subject to Tamoressi. Many others also know of how prisons and jails operate in 3rd world countries, like Mexico. In the old days, and even now, this situation could be taken care of quickly with some cash. But needs to be done QUICKLY. Unfortunately it became political with Tamoressi. The family and supporters took the wrong route for "justice" down there. FOX News, or any press, etc aint the way to go. Pay-offs much better. And I really doubt seeking out official help under the aegis of this guy Obama will help you. But you need to know who, where, and how much to pay. They recently massacred a bunch of students (more ethnically Indian types) at what is called a "normal school" in Guerrero (arrested Major and wife I hear) and also have disappeared some Americans kids in Matamoros- found dead- though that one seems now a possible drug running gone bad- but still questionable if "law" was involved.) The whole country, lest some decent hotels etc with private security and national protection, is a cess-pit (open sewers in many cities even, so I AM literal.) One open-border away. Get them in and let them vote, drive, go to our ERs, and go to our schools: says Obama.

Normal school is an old-fashioned term for teachers' college.

I know the term here but not sure about Ol Mexico- the students massacred looked suspiciously young to be training as a teacher. I like that they still use the outdated term. It is weird how they kept some traditions alive (like using the Roman Salute that political correctness has banned elsewhere due to its association with a certain Austrian.) The place is a cess pit but I did read that they have arrested the people likely behind the massacre and a few more cartel heads have been killed (though rumors say one faked his death.)

[/quote]Yeah.  Seems that I recall a youtube vid of American school kids circa mid 30's (last century) saluting the American flag and saying the Pledge of Allegiance.  That supposedly fell off when old Adolph glommed onto it for his own volk.

yumyumtree

We always saluted and said the pledge. I went to school in the sixties.

I went thru in the 70's-early 80's.  We stood, hand over heart.

Yes, that's what I should have said, hand over heart. But people do that at sporting events and stuff, too.  I was thinking of"salute" more in the figurative sense, rather than literal.
