Why Democrats can't win back the House

Funny how the writer could do a whole article on the House elections and avoid mentioning gerrymandering.

As if your totalitarian puppet-masters wouldn't do the same thing... Republicans WON the elections that handed them the power to re-district - so it IS the voice of the people.

Suck, on, it.

Yes, they did.  Average turnouts in the low 20 %'s, so shame on the voters. Not surprising that instead of doing all the crap they boast about (cutting government, lowering taxes), they spend their time creating congressional districts that look like the Rorschach tests that got you institutionalized.

That's why it should banned constitutionally. Its a prime example of how the quaint 18th Century Constitution is becoming the millstone that will sink 21st Century America.  Unlike you mindless flag-snappers, some can actually see its deep flaws that are now virtually unfixable.

The flaw isn't in the Constitution; the flaw is in The People that vote for their handouts and entitlements then endeavor to lay blame for the direction the country is headed on The People they disagree with philosophically.

What have YOU done to help the poor or feed the hungry - how many illegal Mexicans do you have living in your home? Who's health care bill have YOU volunteered to help pay for? What inner-city caused do you volunteer to work for on the weekends?

The kind of people I am talking about do NOTHING, but they get on the internet and talk about what other people should be paying for, to make themselves feel good about doing NOTHING for the causes they claim to believe in - to allay their guilt for scamming the system wherever they can, to "get theirs".

You're such a useless fool.

Most libs donate time, money, material goods, acquired knowledge to try to help  other people.  It's why we're liberals, Karl!

I myself give over $500 a year to the Church's Office of Radio and Television, so there can be outreach to housebound seniors, disabled, and people without transportation to feel the comfort and community of the Daily Mass.
Last year I gave over $300 to Water.org, donated over 250 hours to Literacy Volunteers teaching the very people you despise how to read your unwelcoming hatred, donated several books, games, and toys to Waterbury Boys & Girls Club, rounded up toys here at the store for Marine Corps' Toys for Tots, participated in canned food drives sponsored by local radio and tv stations, and campaigned for a mayor who negotiated a discount drug card with Waterbury pharmacists.
Oh, and I helped in the Fulton Park clean up three months back.

I mention this because you will never know who I am and because conservatives like you presume liberals don't practice the very values we preach and believe.  You presume we're all the same lazy, self-indulgent wind bag like you who only looks out for "numero uno".

For liberals, an important part of being a good American is to try to leave the country safer, cleaner, friendlier, and with greater justice and equality than when we arrived in it.

Not your beliefs?  So be it, but understand you really don't know what true liberalism is about.

Failure!

Seriously though, we all know liberals personally and I don't know a single one that volunteers time or money for anything. Starbuck's and cellphone bills cost too much for that kind of shit. They might spring for a bumper sticker, but that's about as far as it goes usually.

Want to see a liberal volunteering? Volunteer at a food bank, shelter, or meal program. There will be liberals there. Probably not worth your time, huh?

Holy shit! Do you realize it's possible that you may have donated more than (then) senators Joe Biden and Al Gore combined?!?

Here's how it works: I pulled an ABC news article out of my ass from around 2008. (no date given in the article)

For tax year 1997, Senator Al Gore and wife Tipper reported donations of $353.

Senator Joe Biden and wife Jill donated $120 in 1999. For the ten years prior to the election, Senator Biden and wife Jill averaged $369 per year in donations.

So I point this out merely to illustrate that, politicians (of any persuasion) who voraciously suck on the teat of the citizenry, are mother fucking bastards. A relative in my family is a senator at the state level, and he pays for almost nothing; travel, meals etc. are almost all paid by the government, unions, businesses, and the like.

Shame on us all for not holding these self-aggrandizing blood-sucking mother-fucking leeches accountable, and vote them out of office.

So good for you NowhereInTime, giving and doing more than at least a couple of very famous United States senators, and probably many more of their ilk.

When the Clintons donated their used underwear - and itemized it as a deduction on their tax returrn, I wonder how much Goodwill sold it for

Speaking of the Clintons, the Mrs has been out the past few days trying to distance herself from her and Obama's horrific foreign policy results in the Middle East while she was Secretary of State.  Today B0 said her claims are 'horse shit'.

Two world class liars.  Who to believe?

Because it's true. Look, yeah, you're in a hard ass career working your ass off to help the truly helpless, but that's your career. I feel for you, but you're getting a paycheck. Now, the pretentious preachy liberal jackass in the apartment in Manhattan that's more interested in food quality than Harlem is not you Onan. Know your people and let's not bullshit each other.

As far as liberals being at my charity. Um, no. There are no liberals there. There are democratic voters taking sandwiches, but no liberals. Not one.

I had a hard  time believing this, so I researched and verified per an archived New York Times article: they took a $2 charitable deduction for donated underwear when, "Mr. Clinton was the Governor of Arkansas and his wife was a partner in a Little Rock law firm."

The "Manhattan Liberal" cliche' is tired and well worn. I hope your real lit isn't laden with crap like that.
And yes, Democrats like sandwiches. And open bars.

Or should we believe the truth out of Rand (yes, now I support Israel) Paul?

You made the point that you know of no liberals that volunteer. I suggested a place to find that which you deny exists. It has nothing to do with the work I do.

Cognitive dissonance.

Hes just wants to type anything to fit a narrative, facts be damned.
You seem to be under the impression he wants a discussion.
Next he will move the goal post, create a straw man, or just spew a non-sequitur.
Once cornered he'll just doubt any links or facts posted in lieu of his creations.
Wash rinse repeat, ad finem.

Have fun with that, if you so choose.

Oh cut the shit Nowhere. I know you want to think of liberals as a pack of angels, but take a fucking look out the door. Yes, I think you're a good liberal, I respect you as someone that wants to do good in the world, but for fuck's sake man, take a look around. It's all about keeping up appearances or taking a government check. The idealists might mean well, but the voters and politicians don't. How the fuck do you expect to have a successful country, or even institute your social changes with this bullshit going on?

You say it's a cliché, but walk the fuck out the door man. It's not a cliché, it's reality.

And I really meant what I said when I yelled failure. You failed in what you stated that you wanted to do. The country works less well now. Don't delude yourself into thinking that it's better for anyone, it's truly equally worse off for all of us than it was when we grew up. And it keeps getting worse. You are making us leave our kids a bill rather than a better country. It's fucked up man, let's fix it. But the first thing we will have to do is leave our bullshit ideas in the trash can.

Oh cut that shit out Onan. You point out problem after problem and preach away, but you're the guy we pay to fix them as far as mental health or at least tell us what the fuck's wrong and you couldn't fucking give me a satisfying answer when I asked where the specific hang-ups in the system were. So I'll do it again, give me a real charity that does real good where I can find liberals and I'll go to the fucking thing and report back. Let's live in truth. I'm willing. But I sure as fuck don't see them in the sandwich kitchen in St. Louis.
