Almost. We shouldn't make it competitive. I agree on the part about the charity we donate to being active in Canada as well as the US, but I will match your $250 and we give regardless of what I find. If covenant house is a good charity, then we both give to it after I find out what's up. If it's a bad charity, then we find one that's good that we both agree on. I know we usually fight like cats and dogs, but on this matter I will drop the BS and do it in good faith on a human level.

It's a user and publically funded organization that supports movements by selective discussion and reporting. It is not an organization out to aid the disadvantaged by giving them Morning Edition and Fresh Air, it's a service that you can pay for if you wish (and thusly it must cater to it's listener's social sensibilities) or not (but you still do because it still receives government funding, though thankfully not that much anymore).

It's just a method for a handful of liberal pundits to make a living by presenting themselves in a certain way, charge the member stations huge fees, collect a government check and ask you for money so they can draw biased attention to climate change and fire Juan Williams for saying that he was scared of people wearing burkas on planes in a world full of Islamic suicide bombers. NPR is political correctness and subtle politics in broadcasting done by a group of libs that found a way to make money. In short, you pay them to tell you what you want to hear.

Something I read in a psychology class once about people stalling emotionally when they become chronic drug and/or alcohol users, and they do not begin to develop emotionally again until they stop their addictions.

It's nothing close. It's selective journalism to advance an agenda. I don't watch Fox News, or any other television news for that matter. I started to avoid television news the moment I noticed that liberals were watching MSNBC and CNN and conservatives were watching Fox. That means none of the above are reporting actual fact, rather they had simply openly adopted slant.
