Americans really wish they had elected Mitt Romney instead of Obama

P*B I think you act out of hate and spite. Reason doesn't seem to enter into your political discussions. Just bile and dogma.

That was the Democrats fighting for slavery.  The Party of Racism.  Whose religion is Big Government.

Those Democrats that were for segregation moved to the Republican Party, after the Southern Strategy. Read up on your history. You're completely and utterly wrong.

Well, of the Democrat Senators who filibustered the Civil Rights Legislation, there was Strom Thurmond and, umm... I think that was it as far as party changers.

Al Gore's dad the Senator from Tennessee didn't switch parties.  And neither did Bill Clintons mentor Sen. William Fulbright, or Klan leader Sen. Robert Byrd, or any of the rest of them.  The Republican's must have been pretty shitty about picking up the Segregationist vote because people like George Wallace had to run as Independents.

From your Wikipedia link: "Progressives accused Nixon of pandering to Southern whites, especially with regard to his "states' rights" and "law and order" stands....".  There's an impartial source - 'The Progressives'.  Of course they go on to inform us 'States Rights' and 'Law and Order' are 'code words' for Segregation.

This, after it was mostly the Republicans that got those hard won Civil Rights bills passed.  Why would they flip and go for the Segregationist vote?  Does that make sense to you?

Nixon - from California, by the way, where those issues were nothing like they were in the South, and frankly, the Midwest and Northeast - was going after votes, period.  How do you expect 'The Progressives' to spin it?  Where is the racist legislation in Nixon's Administration?  Seems to me the burden of proof is on the accusers.

I think if you read more closely you'll find I'm mostly responding to hate and spite, bile and dogma - and correcting it.  You'll have to pardon me if I respond to it in kind.

I would suggest those who mostly agree with the comments I'm responding to may not notice the hate, spite, bile, and dogma of those posts.  Especially since much of it comes straight out of the main stream media.

For example a post claiming 'the Republicans are Nazi's' may not even register with people, but if I come back with something similar, I'm the one full of bile, right?

Which is proof the two parties are full the same ole crap.
Not like either one is doing the right things. Maybe a hand full of politicians that I can think of that DID ever do their job right. Most of them were either assassinated, or served back in the horse and buggy days.
I like Rand Paul though. He should just run as an independent.

Indeed. They are all evil and only care about getting more money. The good ones that do get elected get corrupted before they can make a difference.
When going to the voting booth it is like choosing the lesser of two evils.

Really the system is broken. There needs to be some sort of change, and I dont mean O'bummers change.

This was the second ever post of yours to which I responded:

"PB you're a talented, funny person and your Eye Pad bits are priceless.  I don't agree with your politics or your opinion of Ian but your wit and humor are obvious to anyone who reads your posts. Why don't you do a Political Cartoon book or Paranormal satire book that puts your humor together in a readily consumable form? (Hah! Just thinking of "Jorch's Eye Pad Vol 1" makes me laugh out loud!) I think it would be something if you had a book higher on the NY Times Best Seller list than Ian. At least maybe you make a couple of bucks instead of all the free milk you give us!"

Point is, I remember having a lot of respect for you and Sardondi until you started dumping on me as some kind of America hating ignoramus, too liberal and too naïve to know 'the truth'; it got more condescending and vicious from there.
