That is insane. Is there a lot of property crime and such in the area? How can people, even with jobs, afford an addiction that costs $80/pill? I assume it takes a few pills to have any "pleasurable' effect and lasts only a few hours. That is crazy how can anybody afford it?

I saw this news a few days ago

The people dumb enough to buy $80 percocets are probably crushing them up and snorting them as well.  I know I love putting Tylenol/Paracetamol up my nose...

I wouldn't want to be their liver. One of the biggest problems with that stuff is the tylenol/paracetamol (acetaminophen), especially as they, I assume, like some booze with their pills. But even if not drinking, taking so much to get high with those pills and getting tolerance means taking a hell of a lot of acetaminophen, with your opioid, which is bad, bad for liver. And an overdose on that is, apparently, a really painful slow way to go.

  It turned out to be mustard gas.  I hit the ground gagging and suffocating after one breath.  It was horrible, after 5 minutes of pure agony I finally got to my feet while in the middle of the street and ran home.  I never told any of my family members.

Really?  Mustard gas?  I came across Dusty Mustard while I was in the gulf.  Never in grade school.

There was a chemical the colour of tea that was used in the printing industry called 'Blast'. It was very very good at removing dried on ink; I suppose it could also be used for stripping paint, dissolving concrete, defoliating vast acres of forest too (you get the picture?)...At the time it was legal to smoke in factories. The Health and Safety Exec discovered quite accidentally (about ten years after this stuff was put into widespread use) that the fumes from the Blast and cigarette smoke formed mustard gas. Thing is, it was highly flammable so quite why anyone should be smoking when using it is anyone's guess.  Naturally it was taken off the market, and the manufacturer had to re formulate it before it was re-released a few years later. It wasn't as good as the old stuff, and smoking isn't allowed in factories anyway now.
