It's a BellGab miracle. I recited the Art Bell prayer, and EC returned.

Amen and Hallelujah! Welcome back, EC.  :)

Thinking the categories are "hang arounder" or "associate", then "prospect", then "patched member".  Watched a documentary once.  There's also a "service to the club" distinction someone can be awarded.  Might be the "One percenter" or the "Filthy Few" patch.

I'm thinking of a really bad Patch Adams joke, but I am adamant to not go there.

I'm actually more (unintentionally) familiar with the Dallas chapter of Scorpions. I went out one night with a girl (the SPITTING image of Sissy Spacek in her Carrie years.... seriously.  Which can be good or bad, depending on one's taste.  I thought she was pretty. Was a little unnerved she also SOUNDED like Spacek.)

Far later into the night, it was revealed she was the girlfriend of a head Scorpion member, who, she seriously conveyed, was "a really righteous dude." She also told me stories of being a groupie for "Blues Image."

I've made mistakes.... and then I have made mistakes. Ride Captain Ride, indeed, on your fucking mystery ship.

Thank you for making me recall this. I had forgotten about her Blues Image story! Holy shit. The things I forget.

Unlike Eddie and his recall. Which is but one reason I find him so damned interesting.

I love to spin colorful bullshit imagery, but the above is all true.

Live to ride, ride to live.

Cam out.

(Jesus, I am really running late, now. Couldn't be helped! Had to enjoy the Eddie Parade.)

So... what you are saying is my fucked up brain's ability to rewind into the past... I'm now able to cause that to happen to other people...

If we get patches, we will have to keep ordering new ones for each retirement

I don't know Eddie, but he must be a good guy to have so many friends.

And another outstanding Robert Mitchum role.

Lili!  Darling Lili.  Oh, how we've missed you!  Come back, come back! Come back and tell us your love is twue!

Ah, screw it.  Welcome back Eddie.  Looking forward to some interesting discourse between you and Sardondi.  Things have been pretty mundane around here without exchanges between you two sages.  Noory still sucks and the Politics thread still flops around like a nearly dead fish, waiting to be wrapped in a newspaper.

Falkie will be my guess or casio.
Who else do you think that will get ban again?

Hello eddie coyle. You sure have a lot of forum friend/fans on bellgab.

Thanks again for the welcome back. Yeah, you can tease me a lot, 'cause you got me on the spot...and don't remind me 50% of the Sweathogs are dead. I feel old enough as is.

When I have Chinese Food, my GERD acts up and it's like Bhopal in early December '84 around me. Just a terrible scene.

You are forbidden from leaving.  We need you here, more than ever.  Welcome back, buddy.

Off we go with: you play the hobbyhorse

I find it  somewhat comforting that Eddie Coyle may not get that reference. Why I don't know. I'm inebriated. It sure is nice though. It's like a late birthday party at at an folk's home. So many old fucks we thought were cold just to see them come back to life. Warms my enlarged, boozy heart.

I can't shake the feeling that I'm in the midst of the freeing of the arch villains from the krypton phantom zone. Clearly Eddie has a ton Of fans; how the hell did he end up in the phantom zone?

I guess that he pissed off MV.

It had something to do with the influx of trolls & idiots during the peak of the 'art bell quits dark matter' thread. Lets just say, EC had a disagreement with one or two of them.

I guess that he pissed off MV.

If it were simply the case of pissing him off, I would have been banned long ago for sending daily PMs to MV, admonishing him to join the Baha'i Faith and what will happen if he doesn't get on board. It's pretty dire.

I'm not a member of that belief system myself, despite my convincing, proselytizing arguments to the contrary. (I do fancy their nifty little nine pointed star, but that could be a magnetic Thelemite echo if increased by a third.)

Which make my messages all the more annoying.  He knows I don't hold such beliefs and he knows I know he knows.

And he still keeps telling me to post often.

Okay, sometimes it's "post often, dickhead, but quit fucking writing to me."

But you do get my drift.

It's not about MV's tendencies to hunt people down from his rusty brown pickup truck.

No.

It's something larger than that. Something... bigger... than ourselves and our petty flame wars.

(cue An American Trilogy, as vocalized by the late Mr. Presely)

(mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming....)

It's about honor.  And respect on the AM dial.  I realize it's not something we talk about too much around here anymore. We've lost our faith.  But who can blame us? Sun gotta burn, and moon gotta cry, fish gotta swim, bird gotta something-gab.

But if we were to be honest with ourselves, and if we stopped for a minute to reflect on our individual experiences with late night talk radio, the answer becomes clear.

(glory glory... hallelujah...)

This whole THING.  This WHOLE IDEA.... it's about our attempt to assist in the reanimation of the corpse of one Arthur William Bell III.

Time's runnin' out.

MV can be as pissed at anyone as ever. This is bigger than him. It's bigger than me, you, any of us...

And you can't run over it with a rusty pickup truck.

(his truth is marching on !!!! whoah oh oh oh his truth is marching on.....)

'tis a long, sordid tale best left untold.

I've received the exact same PM from MV!   I was telling him about the wonderful opportunities of Scientology!
Particularly after the check clears.
I'm offended by his cut and paste response!

I loosened the salt shakers at the big BellGab picnic last summer. It made a such a mess.

It was a well earned banishment.

Don't forget about Peter Boyle.

I am ashamed to admit I did forget about him in that, and not having seen it in a long time is no excuse.  He was great in just about everything he did (although I didn't watch "Raymond" because I do not love him), and receives nowhere near the credit he deserves.  I just saw "Taxi Driver" for the first time in years, and he absolutely owned his role in that.

I know!

It's just so "form letter rejection."  I feel like I am submitting stories to Weird Tales® all over again.

I'd like to think that MV still cares, but he sure has a mighty happity clickity mouse, or Galaxy addicted swiping finger, whichever the case may be.

He was terrific, and I tend to think of him in his support roles like "The Candidate", "The Brink's Job", "FIST". And "Joe" was mainstreamed into Archie Bunker.

More like the opening of Pandora's Box. Speaking of boxes--she's fine, I just checked. Thanks for asking!
