     There was a 7th installment, but didn't call itself Police Academy 7. To show how different it was, it was released in August...straight to video.

I had to check this one out.  Looks like it's not quite that simple.  It sort of seems to work out that way in practice but is not a strict constitutional requirement.  For nerdy gov't procedure types who are interested see here:

Residency limitation -  While it is commonly held that the President and Vice President must be residents of different states, this is not actually the case. Nothing in the Constitution prohibits both candidates being from a single state. Instead, the limitation imposed is on the members of the Electoral College, who must cast a ballot for at least one candidate who is not from their own state.
