EPA has just put into effect regs that will price out coal part of the power grid. Next winter may see the failure of the grid. Carrington or pseudo-Carrington event not withstanding. A day doesn't go by that some Bureau in Washington is not bringing on some policy that will exacerbate any 'unforeseen' problem. Not so much  to poo-poo the conspiracy but to use such things as a point to see if another point occurs by which a line can be drawn.
Luckily I live where I may heat 6 days of any winter and can get by with heat from cooking. A couple camp stove cylinders a month for last  couple years, some other supplies.  Last winter the N.E. USA was using all power plants at 100%. If ONE had gone down there would have been a Grid down. Now EPA is trying to shut down coal(38% of the Grid).
