Will there be blood?

Started by FightTheFuture, April 11, 2014, 11:42:46 AM

I tend to think this will get ugly. Heavily armed militia are rolling into Nevada as I type this.

Possibly; But I wouldn't worry too much. It's what the 2nd amendment was made for. The oppressive over reaching despotic feds will be given their asses in a sack....Naaa, no they won't.

I hope cooler heads prevail but with the escalation of the BLM and now with militia-types going in and politicians getting involved and throwing comments like "inbred" and "f*ck you" around I'm not sure. Sounds the Range Wars heating up again....

It`s EXACTLY the situation for which the second amendment was designed. Within days, There very well could be a good many heavily armed, and trained, militia on that ranch. They have no qualms at all about spilling the blood of federal storm troopers.

This could get extremely ugly. I hope it doesn`t. But, make no mistake about it; freedom loving people in this country will not... not... let a tyrannical government have their way with good, hard-working ranchers.

It`s just another thing that separates us from the milquetoast Euro-types whence we came.

b_dubb

Are the ranchers using public lands for their cattle to graze?  If so they should pay the land usage fee and go back to work.  If they're dumb enough to start some shit with the Feds, the ATF is going to turn them into a wet spot in the dessert and then have a bbq with their cattle.

I should buy stock in Kraft.  They make a lot of popular bbq sauces.

Well, that and the feeling that it's right to set up shop on public or someone elses land and not have to pay for it...We call them gypsies. They call themselves travelers.

Think about it, if you want to go back to 'olden times' you'd be still a British protectorate.

Seriously, this stormtrooper bollox wouldn't be mentioned if it was the anti G20 crowd in a capital city would it, facing the police/ army/ national guard? A few good ole boy ranchers who are trying it on and getting such as yourself to side with them, because the 'true 'Merican' banner will be flown and anyone who disagrees is a commie/marxist/ liberal or worse, European.

"Me? Oh I've got one or two mobile assets. We'll start with water cannon but we can call in the heavy stuff if your rounds connect with us. Heavy stuff start with a couple of platoons with almost unlimited ammunition. But of course, we hope it doesn't come to that."

Have you ever ventured away from your smelly little island kingdom? I`m thinking you haven`t. You sure don`t know a thing about American culture. And it definitely shows.

He he..Culture? You don't have a single culture because the USA is a melting pot from all over the world...as for me..I've been to Germany, Netherlands, France, Maldives, Kenya (three times), USA (GA), Dubai, Cuba, oh and Italy (You'd love lake Garda and Como)...Mandelo de Lario, home of Moto Guzzi... Granted, London is a shit hole, but the vast majority don't live there. Presumably you have been to the UK to make your in depth assessment?

But all of that is irrelevant to the OP...The 'militia' will have their butts handed to them in little pieces. And if the police, army or whoever lose a man, they'll really need some charity.

And you stupidly let them because you sold out to the EU and the Court of Human Rights. Now the gypsies/travelers have the right to squat on your property and dirty up your countryside. Imagine the country of the Magna Carta and country that started the whole common-law and freedom movement-- now being governed by unelected bureaucrats and judges in places like Strasbourg, Luxembourg, and Brussels! (And, yes, I have been to all those places and they are very nice. I imagine being an EU eurocrat or representative must be a good, tax-free life indeed!)

In a way, that are some the arguments used by ranchers (and others) (The BLM, based in DC) is further away from their ranches than your controllers in Brussels is to London. They have been on the prior to statehood or US government and been working the land prior to the BLM existence. Why not "devolve", to use the term you lot like to use, power to those more locally? According to Article 1, Section 8, Clause 17 it is questionable, at best, why the US Federal government "owns" so much land out there anyway. It should be state or private land.

Sort of a fair point; We weren't given the choice, Don't get me started on the EU. It will only get my gander up. Sooner we're out the better.

Yup... pushing against an open door with me on that.

Sure and that has merit, BUT, in a conflict with the ranchers V the gov...there'll be one winner.

The culture in vast parts of Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow, East London, Cardiff, Belfast, and the like aint much to talk about either. Unless you think chavs, gypsies, swarthy immigrants a-plenty, drunks on the dole, or football hooligans are culture. All countries have problems. Even the UK. And lots of those problems are caused by importing more problems into the country. As the US is doing with an open border to a corrupt narco-state and as the EU is forcing European countries and the UK to do.

Gd5150

The civil war is coming. In the next 100 years or so. The US government represents itself period. The politicians are there for their own power. Everything they do now is to empower themselves. Obamacare is the perfect example, less people are now insured, the government has gained a huge stronghold, and everyone is worse off. And then they tell us they're saving us.

I dont mind though, we need a good war. Too many people, not enough jobs or resources. Also need to wipe out everyone who runs the US government and install real term limits to get our government back to being run for the people by the people. Not a few dozen families who all went to Ivy league schools.

The US and thus the world is going down the toilet. Its 1920 again and now we have nukes.

Looks bad, but this rancher doesn't want to pay $1 an acre (or less) to graze his cattle is probably going to lose. Other ranchers are willing to pay the $1 an acre and he is screwing them over.

Hard to sift through all the facts but he couldn't pay the BLM to graze there because they said "no more" grazing due to a special tortoise (although themselves killed 1000s of them in their sanctuary). And he claims it should be state land, not Federal land and grazing should still be allowed. There also is questions behind motives behind the rule change (that it isn't for the precious tortoises but could be deal to bring solar plant to the area). For what it is worth here is a story on that conspiracy theory. Wouldn't surprise me with Reid and corporations involved. Many already get very sweet-heart deals to mine, frack, etc on public lands.

We do, actually.  Few know it, though.
It has three main tenets that are a unique combination.
It's outlined on every US coin and bill for your convenience...

E PLURIBUS UNUM
LIBERTY
IN GOD WE TRUST

That's the American culture in a nutshell.
The combo of the 3 are unique to the US.

No space for agnostics or atheists then? Not really a culture but three lines of an ideal..One of which is purely speculative.

Thank you for the link, it is good.
So this guy's cattle are messing up private citizen's houses as well. Sounds to me like everyone is sick of this guy.

Oh, and Bundy is letting his cattle "graze" on private farmer's alfalfa fields. What an asshole.

I see why he has out of state militias coming to join him. His neighbors are probably sick of this.

That isn't culture. That's an aspiration/construct. And I have news for you, the USA isn't unique when it comes to it.

But; Meanwhile back at the ranch...these ranchers will surrender to overwhelming odds if it ever came to them being confronted with the guys with a bigger gang and bigger clubs.

onan

Although I am not sure, E PLURIBUS UNUM meaning one out of many is thought to refer to many people to form one nation, hence melting pot.

Although I find that during the revolutionary war there was a periodical named The Gentleman's Magazine. It was an anthology of stories and had the phrase out of many, one on the top of every page.

Liberty is an euphemism.

And I don't think we give all that much trust to god in this nation. A lot of talk, maybe.

I am not one for violence. I am certainly not for making a martyr out of anyone wanting to draw a line in the sand with another's blood... no matter the side. And quite honestly, how come none of these militia types showed their head at "free speech zones" before now?

This, to me is, cowboy drama. Which when I think about it is about as much culture as we have in this country. Everybody thinks themselves some version of Roy Rogers.

The General

E PLURIBUS UNUM
LIBERTY
IN GOD WE TRUST

That, historically speaking, is the American culture.
You may disagree with it, you may not like it, and it may be changing,
but it is the American culture and it is unique IN THIS COMBINATION to America.

I guess we have a different understanding of culture. And I am not trying to argue with you.

As mottos go, I pretty much think they are more than acceptable. But certainly you would see that they are open to interpretation.

The more I read on this Bundy guy the worse he sounds.

When you grow up in cattle country, cattle are going to mess things up and usually the rancher will come by and you handle things face to face. Many ranchers work very hard to keep their cattle from harming private property. But there are always a couple of guys that couldn't care less about what their cattle do to your property or what part of your farm they graze on. When it reaches the point people are filing complaints with the government, that means the rancher doesn't give a shit about what part of your farm he destroyed. This Bundy guy sounds like he doesn't give a shit about anyone.
