Britain led the world in everything that was worth knowing; Right up until the first third of the 20th century, then the world it had influenced caught up and in some cases overtook, it's how cyclic things go...

I am assuming you mean Germany. Or wherever Euler was living at the time.

I was too harsh when I said third I think. Right up until the 40's/early 50's Britain was probably (other than the A Bomb) at the head of the game with most things. Germany had/has supreme engineers, it's taken seriously over there and kids take it as more important than being 'famous'.
Whittle invented the jet engine of course and if you look in the book 'Empire of the Clouds' By James Hamilton-Patterson, is a lesson in how to grab defeat and rank mismanagement from the jaws of being world class. The Bell X1? Almost an exact copy of the Miles M52 that Whittle designed an engine and afterburner for to break the sound barrier.. Miles were ordered to cease the project by some mindless wanker in the government and all the jigs, drawings, and expertise were given (yep...given) to Bell. Chuck Yeager then took the X1 through the sound barrier.

But as we've moved from cattle grazing and GI Joe's to China to technology, we might as well stick in aircraft.

"(San Francisco, California, August 6, 2020).  Just minutes ago, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ("Ninth Circuit") affirmed the dismissal by the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada, of the indictment which the Obama Department of Justice ("Obama DOJ") had brought against Cliven Bundy, his sons Ammon and Ryan, and Ryan Payne, one of many peaceful protesters who also was indicted,  after the successful standoff  of federal government agents who threatened the Bundys' lives, killed their cattle, assaulted family members and perpetrated  tyrannical executive power over them."

Amazingly even the 9th Circuit ruled against the Obama DOJ in these cases!

Who killed LaVoy Finicum?
https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/7008305-FINICUMFINIDNGSJUDGEJULY24.html The Feds dropped in the Civil Suit for now, apparently another judge needs to decide.

It is claimed that the FBI missed and it was the Oregon State Police who killed/murdered him.  But the FBI agent who lied -he did fire on him, but the claim is he missed and 'only' hit truck. That Agent has been indicted on the lying, who knows what will happen with that.
