From what I understand, beef prices have been steadily rising for some time, now. I haven`t actually purchased a beef product in quite awhile, but the WSJ tells me it`s getting worse.

Not only are prices higher but more and more people are buying cheaper cuts of meat and some butchers/grocers have changed way to cut and what is for sale due to demand for cheaper cuts due to the price hikes. But it is also related to corn and feed prices and the fuel prices.
Luckily for us though. There is no, or very low inflation, according to the Feds because who needs food or fuel. So let's not include that in the inflation data!

Your analysis of of Obama's philosophy based on a two minute "debate" sound bite is weak.  Obama was referring explicitly to the gross unfairness of the way hedge fund managers (those 28 guys earning $50B in 2007 whom he mentioned); whose earnings are, in fact, based on fees and performance bonuses; have manipulated the tax code through their lobbyists so their incomes are considered "carried" like cap gains, allowing them to pay the cap gains tax rate of 15% instead of income tax rates.  These were, btw, the same wonderful entrepreneurs who largely created the derivative and swaps fraud that looted the world economy and cratered it a few months after that debate.

Apparently, you're of the mind that "legal" is the same as "fair" and that if someone has the millions to hire lobbyists and to buy politicians to create special laws just for them, that's part of their 1st Amendment rights. I disagree. I believe conservatives (used to be one) and the childishly naive libertarians are being played for fools by the moneyed at a scale not seen in centuries.
