Noory and Coast to Coast replaced by baseball reruns in NYC

The Coast affiliate in NYC, WOR-710, got the Mets radio rights this year. They replay the day's Mets game at midnight , pre-empting much of Coast to Coast. With games almost every day, Noory is effectively off NYC radio unless you listen to a boring replay of a baseball game to catch the last couple of hours of C2C.

What's the problem? No-one likes listening to him anyway. People have got what they wanted..Noory off the air. Result.

For the past few years, C2C has been on the "sports channel" 850 koa in Denver.  The beginning is always preempted by a late Rockies game, followed by a terrible recap.  The previous two stations and the first few months of 850 KOA ran the last hour of the previous night's show, the live show and a replay of the first two hours.  Now, they only do the previous night's hour, the live show and it is all preempted by baseball and college basketball.  Of course it doesn't matter because most nights I'd rather listen to the grass grow than hear Jorchy boy read the same questions every night.

Thats pretty cool actually. I would listen to a ballgame over C2C if I missed the ball game in the evening.

Wow. How far as the show sunk. RE-RUNS of MET's games is chosen over C2C. Obviously I would pre-empt for live games, though with some teams even C2C might have better ratings of listeners, but for a station to chose to play re-plays over C2C. PR and CC must be proud.

Some caller should mention this to Noory, preferably an east of the Rockies caller.

As a side note, I head about 18 months ago that "conservative talk" ratings were slumping and radio execs were trying to replace conservative talk with sports radio. The reasoning being that the two were able to retain or maintain similar market share. I know in my neck of the woods, we have had at least 3 new sports talk radio channels pop up, two of them are conversions. I don't think management changed, so this is just about management making money and not a political referendum.

Maybe Dames can tell us where Coast ends up when it crashes and burns.

Dave better hurry up with that Hawaii studio, he might be living there soon.

THat would be some sweet listening.  Jorch tap dancing as fast as he can around the question.  "Man, baseball, you bet.  That is the all American past time.  I wonder how long until professional sports recognizes and starts testing athletes for tumeric?  Wouldn't that be something?"

Ha, yes, or testing for Carnivora.  "That's absolutely correct, Jorch.  It's all about that home run hit'n moduuuuulation.  I fully expect to have no strike-outs at bat in my line-up!"

HAHAHA it will not be every day. Only 162 days out of the years (no chance of playoffs).  Good for the awful Mets to get some extra radio time. Now Mets fans can relive Valverde's blown saves 2 times a night.  :D

In all honesty the Mets have been terrible for so long, they are fun to root for because they are such an underdog. I'd much rather listen to the Mets or anyother MLB team than Noory.
