Alec Baldwin says Good-Bye to Public Life

I thought it a very insightful article. The problem he (and many others) have, is most of the public will believe any crap they read in gossip columns. No accountability, no recourse to getting the facts straightened. The following I thought a sad indictment.

Quote
Even the U.S., which is so preposterously judgmental now. The heart, the arteries of the country are now clogged with hate. The fuel of American political life is hatred. Who would ever dream that Obama would deserve to be treated the way he has been? The birth-certificate bullshit, which is just Obama’s version of Swiftboating.

And all for the electoral nullification that seems like a cancer on the American system. But this is Roger Ailes. And Fox. And Breitbart. And this is all about hate. It’s Hate Incorporated. But the liberals have taken the bait and run in the same directionâ€"and it’s just as corrosive. MSNBC, in its own way, is as full of shit, as redundant and as superfluous, as Fox.

I think America’s more fucked up now than it’s ever been. People are angry that in the game of musical chairs that is the U.S. economy, there are less seats at the table when the music stops. And at every recession, the music is stopping.

Well, of course you did.

Poor Piers Morgan, poor Alec Baldwin, poor Barrack Obama - it's such a shame how those horrible horrible Americans have treated them.

Alec Baldwin is one of the biggest jerks to ever come out of Hollywood.  And that was true long before his gay bashing rants.

The angry and bitter ramblings of  the most inconsequential figure to ever attempt to enter the electronic arena of post-modern political discourse. I can only hope that this time he is serious about leaving.

^^^ Prime example as to what he refers to. As for me, I haven't met the guy, have you? No. So you're basing your opinion on the very media you despise so much...

Side? I don't know him to form any such alliances. You though presumably do, because you clearly wouldn't base your informed opinion on the media would you? The left wing/marxist/ liberal media that you don't trust...

Or would you say the following isn't the case?:

The problem he (and many others) have, is most of the public will believe any crap they read in gossip columns. No accountability, no recourse to getting the facts straightened.

At which point did I say I was his friend? I'm sure I just implied I agreed with what he said. I sometimes agree with what you say, it doesn't mean I want your babies.

And? He's human; Or do you prefer the asinine, compliant, saccharine with no personality? I have several close friends who have quick tempers, but it doesn't make them bad people. As I asked, do you believe everything you read in the press (That liberal left leaning press you hate) or just the bits that support the prejudices you already held? Yeah, that would be it.

His problem with that is, too many of his tirades have been captured on video or been recorded.  There is nothing to be straightened out.

Let me ask you this - would you be quoting Charles Manson if he said something you agree with?  Why not?  How about Mel Gibson?  Of course not, he's not a Liberal in good standing and is correctly shunned for his very similar comments and out of control behavior.

Everyone should pay close attention to the Alec Baldwin drama as it unfolds this week.  We will find out - again - that the Libs don't really give a hoot about the various causes they claim to support, except when it suits them for political reasons.  They will stand with Baldwin and the comments in this interview despite the long history of homophobia, misogyny, racism, the way he raged at his young daughter, the way he's treated lots of people.

But he's a Liberal in good standing, smart enough to make the right comments when it counts, like with this "I'm leaving again" article, so all's well.  Let's find out who else will support him upcoming days and weeks.

Whose business was that other than with his family? I'm not defending what he said, but what business is it of you or me?

Jeeeze, you really can avoid answering a question can't you?

I asked if you agreed with the press and their practices and did you fundamentally agree with the passage I quoted..

Hmmm, a liberal with good standing: We have had homophobia/misogyny and racism on these very boards by right wing members (past-banned- and present) Yet not once have I seen you say anything against them, odd that.

It's funny isn't it? (I think it is anyway) The Glenn Becks, The Limbaugh's are all using their 'freedom of speech', yet somehow that same privilege is used against Baldwin-tell me, would you say he has those rights if he was a Republican?

George Drooly

Baldwin is a typical celebrity -- of little consequence but also completely grandiose and browbeating. Problem is, anyone who truly wants to exit "public life" doesn't make... a... public statement... about it. It's just another way for a narcissist to garner attention. I mean, come on, did Terrence Malick make a press release in 1980 that he was no longer giving interviews? No, he just stopped talking to the press, and he hasn't done so in 35 years. Of course, that's also a canny way of getting attention, so, basically, I say fuck all famous people, they deserve whatever misfortunes befall them.

This isn't a court.  I'm not sending him to prison.  I am saying he's a disgusting prick and find it interesting someone would wish to quote his comments.  I'm also pointing out his hypocrisy and suggesting some other Libs won't mind it either.

But you go ahead and keep digging your hole

I really don't care whether anyone likes Baldwin or not. I really don't care if he did or didn't use a slur regarding homosexuals.

A few of you here wouldn't give a shit, if he didn't profess being liberal. And that is what gets your lather up. That is humorous in and of itself.

Last I checked, the Motor City Madman wasn't given a primetime TV political talk show. And as far back as I can remember, I don't believe ted has ever assaulted a single person.

Exactly; If Baldwin had never given his politics, some would say he's just a fool, but agree with his sentiments re:The press. (An opinion shared by some on here who say they don't like Baldwin)

But because he's a self proclaimed liberal, well, they're good to go. He just has to say he's converting to Islam and then they can really let the spleens vent.

He physically assaults people because he is so full of himself, and cannot control his anger. That makes him a bully. And no rational person likes, or even tolerates, a bully.

I agree; but that isn't why you don't like him. I haven't formed an opinion of him as I don't know him. Neither have you, but that isn't the point. You don't like him because he doesn't share your political leanings...Black/white, yes/no, right/wrong...pigeon hole...

Not so much. As I originally posted, the man is completely inconsequential. My thing with Baldwin is, he's a hypocrite of the worst kind as well as a bully who loves to physically asssult people weaker than he. So, let's hope this time, he is true to his word, and really does disappear.

'preposterously judgmental'  Have you talked to any Libs lately?  That's what preposterously judgmental looks like.

'The heart, the arteries of the country are now clogged with hate'  Ever disagreed with a Lib?  You can usually find some good old fashioned hate and anger there if you do.  Why don't you go down to the next 'Occupy' rally and tell them you don't agree with them

'Who would ever dream that Obama would deserve to be treated the way he has been? The birth-certificate bullshit'  Who would have dreamed this Leftist agitator nobody would ever get elected to anything outside Chicago?  By the way, he's offered up 2 counterfeit birth certificates, when is he going to release the real one?

'electoral nullification'  I'm not even sure what he's talking about unless it's the stolen elections (WA St governor, MN Senator (Franken) and a few House seats), and illegals voting

'MSNBC, in its own way, is as full of shit, as redundant and as superfluous, as Fox'  That I agree with - Fox is the mouthpiece for the establishment/globalist/Rino R's and MSNBC and most of the rest of the Media are wholly owned subs of the 'Progressive' wing of the D Party.  Of course it's self serving for him to point it out now that he's been fired from MSNBC - where was he on that before?

'I think America’s more fucked up now than it’s ever been'  5 years of Obama will do that

Yeah, actually it is. You see, I think Baldwin is an amazing actor. In fact, he's one of my favorite actors. Now, if he would only stick to acting, he might not be so angry and aggressive towards people.

But he sure liked to put his dinker into those underage girls! Ted lived by one motto - Old enough to pee, old enough for me.

Call it pedophilia, call it child molestation, whatever it is, it is pretty freaking sick when a 28 year old man is making the moves on a 12 year old girl.
