Anyone watching? What a brilliant series. I just finished Season 1. Season 2 is out on February 14.

My wife and I are planning on a House of Cards marathon on the 14th.

I've been meaning to watch this series. it's been on my Netflix playlist for months. Someday.

The BBC series that was broadcast here in the 80's about the goings on between a civil servent a d  journalist? Yeah good series. :)

I watched the US version first.  Found later that there was a British version.  Gotta say, I enjoy the US version more. 
I don't remember the Brit actors name at the mo'....but watching him I wanted to reach out and bitch slap his smarmy face.

The original series was in the UK in 1990 (I thought it was 80's--time flies) and written by a Conservative lacky, Michael Dobbs. Ian Richardson who played Francis Urquhart was fantastic.

I still want to slap his smarmy face.  It's a visceral thing.  I guess that is excellence in acting.

I agree; the audience is expected to see him as the bad guy and despise him.
