Anyone interested/watch the show over across the pond in the UK tonight?  I'll be finding it soon enough, and it premieres on pbs January 19th, 2014 over here in the states.  But you guys get the next 3 shows all quick quick, another on the 5th and 12th.  Just curious about if you thought it was decent episode no spoilers please  :-X

I would - it's a good show, fan of the actors, but not in the fetish/sherlock/manlove kinda way.

I'm on your side of the pond and saw tonight's episode.  :-X Have you been watching Sherlock all along? Not to give away spoilers, but this was the tie-in to the last episode of series 2 where Sherlock jumps off a building and everyone thinks him dead. It was good, and it could stand alone, but it's better if you'd seen 'Reichenbach'. However, it kick starts a new nemesis, I believe, and that's all I'm going to say except Watson now has a mustache if that's not too big a spoiler.  ;)

I have watched the series, and yes I've watched the trailer too, so I know what happens, I just didn't "seek" it out as the time had passed, so I'll find it tonight sometime.  Yes, i knew everything except the new "villain" in the series.

*Edit...i'll be watching it whenever I so choose now  :o

It's out there, steelbot.

Geez, I'm between a rock and a hard place and don't want to say anything to spoil it, so I'll say this episode tied up loose ends from the last, dealing with the repercussions of Sherlock's return from the dead, while laying the groundwork for the next arc, including a new villain, but he's not really revealed as yet. Some very funny moments and some extremely suspenseful moments. The 'stache almost achieves character status.  Good episode.

TMI? I'll edit if so.

No worries lol, I already have it lol, I am just not able to watch until later, and you are not reveling anything.  I've watched all the shit about the upcoming episodes and the website they have devoted to the return, and know all about how his death is revealed, and the stach, and all of it man.  Trust me everything you've described was def on the 10-12min preview i've already seen.

You won't be disappointed. Usual Sherlock stuff.  ;)

Here's an article in the local paper comparing US TV show 'Elementary' to the BBC's 'Sherlock', and how much Elementary has borrowed from Sherlock.  I don't think the writer likes Lucy Liu very much.

I'm not sure I agree with the tone of the Article, I think Elementary is decent considering most of the rest of American TV

Interesting that Dr House gets a shout out.

The BBC recently uploaded a 7 minute mini-episode 'prequel' to season 3 to YouTube.

If you're familiar with London, there are one or two continuity errors; I'm not so it made no difference to me. Sit back and enjoy it; it's a bit up and down and round and about, and not all you want to know is revealed in the first episode. Bear that in mind.

Any Sherlock fans see what I am doing here?

immediately

Hey, did you end up liking Max Igan?

gringomisio

I've seen the first two episodes.  S3e01 was good but I didn't like the way it was directed.  The second was was better in my opinion.  This show doesn't compare at all to the USA version and is world's better.

Well if by American version you mean the Luci Lui show, I have never nor will ever compare that POS to this show, sherlock keeps with "traditional" sense of the story of sherlock - But I am finally caught up and I liked both episodes.

Our local PBS station showed episode 1 and 2 from the first season back to back tonight (Fri).  I assume they showed them on other affiliates.

The schedule for the rest of them at least here in SF on KQED is:

Next Fri Jan 17 they will be showing episode 3 from the first season and episode 1 from the second season

The following Fri Jan 24 they will be showing episodes 2 and 3 from the second season

The schedule for the new season will be

Episode 1 - Jan 19 & 25
Episode 2 - Jan 26 & Feb 1
Episode 3 - Feb 2 & 8

Well Netflix has both Seasons 1 and 2 and can be watched quickly - then BBC has already aired episodes 1 and 2 of this current Season 3 with the 3rd episode set to air tomorrow night...and again are readily available as others have discussed within hours of air time, in 720p at around 1.67-.87 gigabyte per mkv...just saying...i've heard rumor... Anyways the first two episodes have been good.  Just watched em both again tonight with more fans of the show and on second viewing i was still entertained.

Downloading as we speak...

Brilliant! How long until the next series? I am sorry I doubted Moffat & Gatiss. Never again.

steelbot

well depends on what season and where in the world, PLUS your stance on downloading.

THEY are airing the third season now, in England...and it starts in US on PBS starting the 19th for most...some have aired early...

Yes, that's what I was referring to: His Last Vow. Brilliant. Never saw it coming.

Wow, great episode! What a twist can't be said enough!! No doubt can't wait till the next season already!

Yorkshire pud

This mentions some of the revues (spoiler alert)...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-25710734

This is what the Daily Mail has to say! It can't help itself..The editor Paul Dacre is a bigot. The proprietor pays no tax to the UK, neither does the paper. (Offshore tax havens) and both get flack for their dubious practices--Maybe that's the real reason for the slant in their revue? Surely not!! ...Oh and take note of the column on the right side of the page. Such high brow stuff eh?

But back to Sherlock, they just can't accept that it's entertainment.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2538350/Sherlocks-new-press-baron-foe-evidence-Left-wing-bias.html

LOL, the Daily Fail strikes again.

I should have realized that was mini Moff, he's well known throughout the Whoniverse in which I hold dual citizenship. Perfect as young Sherlock.

I agree with the first review: I had my doubts after the second episode but His Final Vow blew them away.

An old thread, but I'm glad its here.  I've spent the last week "binging" this odd creation from across the pond, and I like it.
