MV, he has an impossibly rich voice - it practically sounds digitized - but he seems a little full of himself and his talent might be better suited to movie trailer/nature show voiceovers than helming a program about the unexplained. This genre needs a little more humility in all aspects.

He called in once and either the settings on his computer were wrong- or he was calling from somewhere he did not have access to software to "help" his voice.  The fact is that while he has a deep voice, it became quite apparent that he has a little extra help from technology.

I would be interested to see if there is any youtube video of him live at a woo woo con or something where he as to go "au naturel."   And yes- his ego damn near matches Trump's.

It probably has something to do with mic processing. I think Stern sounds a lot deeper when he's in his own studio than he otherwise does, for example. I'm not going to claim any expertise on this, but that's my first thought.

He actually talked about this during his interview on End of Days radio. Almost all hosts prefer certain mikes that make their voices sound better.
I forgot the brand he uses but he prefers a certain one that nicely amplifies his voice.

They use EQs, compressors, noise gates, and sometimes a slight amount of reverb.

The guy from Mysterious Universe uses this old compressor software, calls it his "secret weapon."

It has to be the worst sports site ever to have a time that they declared Cubs the winners.

Cubs were up 3 to 2 until the 8th when the Giants took the lead. The Cubs tied it in the 9th and the Giants finally took it in the 13th.
At no point do you look at the score and decide, yup, Cubs have this one. It was a tight game.
