Both Patty and I are very upset with Kathy and her laziness. But we cannot abandon her in her hour of need.
BOTH of us are going to have a firm talk with her that she had better not slob up the new place because we will NOT help her if she gets kicked out again because she won't get off her ass and keep the place clean.
Patty will be over here at 10. She's been a trooper helping both of us out & desperately needed sleep.

By your definition, my efforts are NOT hard WORK ( look up the 50 + definitions of the word ), wheras Patty's are. which is a specious and ridiculous argument to make.
I worked hard when I worked for a living.
I work hard when I am cleaning given my physical limitations.
In that vein, I woke up at 8 am & was very congested and had breathing difficulties. This happens frequently as my sinuses and lungs fill up with fluid while I am sleeping.
I called housing to ask the manager for an extension to get more cleaning done,
They refused.
So I once again called my local board of supervisors office and the person there could hear me wheezing and breathing like Vader.
I told him that I AND Patty had been cleaning all weekend and that I could not possibly get done by today.
They had already been told at length about my health issues and my inability to get a caregiver.
He said somone would get back to me.
In about 2 minutes the director of housing called me herself. i told her at length about the history of my health issues and the problems with this apartment AND that I am going to be interviewed for a caregiver by the county sometime this week.
I further  addressed my stove not working for 9 years and nothing being done about it and my toilet not flushing right as well.
She said that would be taken care of today and that the manager would be here at 3 pm & would tell me what I needed to do to get this apartment up to the standards of the Federal government who sets the rules so that the county get federal housing funds including the federal window regulation and we discuused tht at length.
During the call, she heard me wheezing, coughing and gasping for air and said :

" My you ARE sick and that she has family members with the same ailments that i have. "

So all of this is NOT driven by the county but the Feds and I am probably not in danger of eviction.
I know that will disaapont the haters on here immensely.

One funny thing. I had also brought up on reason Patty could not help me more because she was helping Kathy with her cleaning, packing and moving issues and she said I was confusing her because two of her assistants are named ...  Kathy and Patty.
We had a laugh over that and who says their are NO coincidences ?

Vaccuumed in here. Did the next to last rack of dishes, threw out two bins of junk and am having a cup of coffee & will vaccuum behind the big green chair in the living room, finish the last rack of dishes and the stove as both of us were too wiped out to do it when Patty left.
After that. I will vaccuum in the hallway, mop the tile hallway floor and clean in the bathroom and i will be done for awhile as my energy levels will require me to take a break and wait for the manager to show up at 3.
Patty scrubbed down the kitchen counters, cabinets and oven door and cleaned out my icebox last night.
By Sunday everything in here will be neat and duted and vacuumed even with my having to go help Kathy.
And I wiil work on a video of everything in here.

Patty looked drained when she left here last night. So was I and both of us were so worn out we could barely talk.
Going to Kathy's is going to be more hard, sweaty work for both of us.
But it needs to be done.

Yeah, I know.  You've posted the definitions of work before.  However, generally one applies context, takes the most appropriate definition, and disregards the rest unless he's a robot or computer which can't make that distinction.  One doesn't blanket-apply all the definitions simultaneously. 

I know you have a lot of health challenges, and I don't envy you on that, although my compassion is limited because I think you could have avoided them in the first place and could still do much to alleviate them.  You may also be a hard worker when it's do or die, but I use 'hard working' as a general character trait and, perhaps I'm wrong, but I'm not getting that vibe.  Patty, however, is going well out of her way for both you and your girlfriend, probably without much in the way of thanks.  She sounds like a no-nonsense, hard working sort.

Anyway, good luck.  Contrary to what you may think I have the best interests of you and those around you at heart.
