Falkie is a history buff who believes Joan of Arc practiced self-immolation. I bet it was a statement over women's suffrage.

Buff? He's an authority on all things historical...or is that hysterical?

Pudding Bitch is the shrillest of the Falkie hateurs.
Being a Brit he's limited to begin with.
I'm going to make him kiss my Scotch-Irish ass.

Start with making an Irish coffee (mines a Highland Park)..then we can discuss the other details.

I made a huge mistakewen I tore out the headliner  of our Saturn. underneath was fire retardant chemicals like barium. I did not wash my eyes in time but didn't knw what was under it until later.
I hate when that happens.

I hate when that happens.

Thankfully not that often; but there have been academic studies conducted on it.

... Is there something that Falkie could do differently to get that $20 bill of yours into his pocket?

As entertaining as all this is, no.

According to Falkie I saved his life by calling Kathy when he emailed me begging me to call her when he was"dieing". I tried to help him buy glassesby arranging for him to get cash.

And I am also a bad guy according to him.

The Guy From Pittsburgh ( tm ) George Washington's Ghost At Gettysburg ! !!!

George,

FWIW I have about 30 letters from Hiram Morse who was in the 20th of Maine and fought on Little Round Top.
For those unaware of Civil War history, the 20th Maine fight on Little Round Top at the battle of Gettysburg, is arguable the pivotal point of the Battle of Gettysburg and the Battle of Gettysburg was the again arguable the pivotal point of  the War.

For your reading pleasure is my transcription of Hiram's letter about Gettysburg:

July 8, 1863

Middleton, Maryland

My Dear Wife,

I have not written as much as usual of late for we have been marching & fighting almost night and day so I could not write & if I had time to write I could not send it.  We have not had but two mails for the last month & one of them we got this morning. We have been marching for the last three or four weeks.  We have marched as many hundred miles & fought a number of battles in all of them.  We have been victorious thank the Good Lord.  We fought a terrible battle on the 2nd & 3rd days of July in which our regiment took a desperate fight but was victorious after some of the most terrible fighting of the war.  We were placed on the line of battle & the rebs flanked us with three or four regiments. They came down on our 20th  regiment. Two Alabama & one Texas regiment came against our regiment alone.  We fought them with terrible energy and desperate effect & charged upon them and broke their line.  It is said by old soldiers that they never saw or heard such fighting in their lives.  We came out with great honor & the 20th regiment is praised by everybody.  The battle was very severe all along the line.  Our men fought well and the rebs fought with great desperation.  We wiped them badly and on the fourth of July we paused to shed tears of sorrow for our noble dead for we have lost very heavily.  I guess that you will think so, when I tell you that we took about 250 men into the fight & our regiment  had 146 killed and wounded. You see this is over one half.  I can’t help but shedding tears of sorrow for the noble men that have fallen & when I think that I was in the thickest of the fight directing & urging the men on and received no injury not even a scratch.  I feel thankful enough to God who took care of me. I have great reason to be humble and thankful to Him, who is able to take care of me here & preserve my life to return to you my dear little family again.  I had a blanket rolled up and over my shoulder shot all to pieces or at least there were more than forty holes in it.  It looked as if the rats had been gnawing it to pieces.  I threw it away & picked up another.  There were plenty of them on the ground.  I got a letter from you this morning.  Was very glad to get it.  You feel very anxious about me. I know you do but don’t feel over anxious about me for I am in the hands of our God who is able to take care of me under any circumstances.  My dear wife I will try & write you an account of that terrible battle in Pennsylvania.  I your poor husband have received considerable praise for his conduct in the battle.  I would like you to know all about it. I can tell quite a story but I have not the time now for we expect to move right off.  We marched about twelve miles before noon through the mud & rain pouring down on us. I am well but good deal worn out and need rest.  Since the battle I have been appointed acting lieut. & shall get a commission soon from Augusta.  Say nothing yet .  Give my love to all of the family kids the little ones for me Dee.

Back then and until fairly recently even the common man could write beautiful things that flowed and made you cherish them & want you to read them over & over.
Today in this " kimmie is history " dumbed down culture, letter writing is  a lost art.
thank you for sharing it. - I am quite aware of little round top and the struggle by the men on both sides.

There are so many questions about 9/11 AND the attack on the Pentagon that are suspiious.
building 7, no debris in front of the Pentagon immediatedly after the crash of a supposed airliner, reports of explosions in the wtc, news reports that building 7 fell before it fell, inept conspirators who were supposedly lousy pilots; the list is endless. Add me to the leaning towards the truthers though I do NOT think GW had anything to do with it.
It's like the JFK assasination. a hurried commssion, botched  testimony and coverup and ample evidence that Oswald was innocent.

Rod Serling intro for The Twilight Zone's "He's Alive"

what does that excerpt have to do with my comment ?

answer :

absolutely nothing.

the Warren Commission was a rush job, testimony ignored, their investigator Spector leaning things towards his own views, no real effort to seek out the truth because once the commision decided on the lone gunman theory ( which has holes in it so big you can drive to Pittsburgh through it) all other posibilities were ignored. same went for the Condon committee which was also a put up job as was the 9-11 commission. 9-11 was a crime scene yet the evidence was taken to a junkyard, video of the attack on the Pentagon confiscated never to be seen  again, witnesses who said they saw no plane hit the Pentgon but a missle, what looks like an explosion next to a news copter BEFORE a plane hit one of the twin towers ( it looks like a missle hit) and so much more.

JFK, Condon, 9-11 all too dangerous for someone to to reveal the truth and in all 3 very probable CIA involvement. Same goes for disclosure.
Truman was absolutely right when he said he made a huge mistake in disbanding the OSS and creating the CIA.

oh, in the vein of Dr. Wholess'es comment, a new book out claims Hitler escaped to Argentina.

You sure did.  It's the "He's Alive" episode.  This Nike commercial is perfect for this thread.

It's only nothing if you're not switched on enough, and have the nuances go waaaaaaaaaaaaay over your head. Nothing to do with 9/11 or JFK, or the Moon landings, or Aliens...but so much more about someone very close to you..VERY close.  :)

Yeah, I think it was on here a while back someones said he flew there from Germany; An excellent plan, with two minor problems. 1) Germany didn't have any aeroplane that could fly to Argentina from Germany, and 2) Germany didn't have any aeroplane that could fly to Argentina from Germany.... Small but important things to consider.

No problem. According to Falkie's book, Hitler took a train from Germany to Argentina.
