I don't think an interview with Noory is out of the question.
After all, despite all the verbal brickbats I've thrown at him, he still writes me emails.
This Friday I will have a new Iphone 5c and I'll see if I can get into open lines and ask him on the air and see what he says.

Does this mean you're open to interviews from those who throw brickbats at you Falkie? Or is that different?

Falkie, I tried the djpod link and didn't work. I see you have 2 episodes already. I also see that the website has their own advertising (which is fine).

I'm not going to replace my computer that works fine w/other belgab podcasts.

I pay for internet so I don't have to buy other things. Perhaps more "green".

I don't know what kind of music you like, and the roots of this go back a long time, takes being in sort of an obscure frame of mind, and understand a bit about music and the history of the original writing played by next generation w/great help.
Zappa Play's Zappa 1997 Concert Part 2

Podcast # 2 on You Tube.

Podcast # 1 on You Tube.

I don't know why the link isn't working for you. A female Bellgabber said it wouldn't work in Itunes. I sent her the link to my storage/uploading site and it worked fine.
Maybe its a Mac vs. PC problem, I dunno. When I click on those links it works fine on my Mac.
New podcast tonight when I get back.

As to my musical tastes, I stopped listening to rock years ago. I have to think if there's anyone of recent vintage that I've heard in rock that I like but offhand I can't think of anyone.
I never liked Elton John, Barry Manilow or Bob Dylan, mostly because he sounds like he's mumbling AND stoned all the time.
I did like Chicago, Queen and Abba but I listen to old stuff like groups like the Modernaires, big band, classical and classic composers of soundtracks.
I like some C & W people too. I used to like Linda Ronstadt, Samantha Fox and other female singers as well. I'd have to go through my cd collection to see whom I like. I also like Tony Christie, James Darren & Harry Connick, Jr.
All people whose lyrics one can clearly understand instead of what passes for unintelligible stuff these days.

And for YP, for some reason You Tube didn't ask me to submit an Ad Sense application until a few minutes ago. My application has been submitted and should be approved within a week. Then, hopefully, I'll start getting ad revenue from my videos.

According to one YT poster who has only 39 subscribers, he gets $1-2 a day from You Tube. Once one gets around 1500 subscribers or so you start making appreciable money. But $ 365 a year would pay for my internet bill for the year. Or buy me a low end Ipad.

This from YT :

When do I get paid?

Once you’ve associated an AdSense account with your YouTube account, you can be paid when your earnings reach your local payment threshold, as long as there are no holds on your account, monetization is not suspended for your channel, and you're in compliance with our policies.

For example, if you’re located in the United States and your balance exceeds $100 at the end of November, we will send you a payment in December.

More information about specific payments can be found in the AdSense Help Center.

I do know they only pay in $100 increments.

That Zappa video made me look for the onrushing natives. I'm more of a Buddy Rich kind of guy.

I also listen to jazz and classical music and really old big band stuff like :

Paul Whiteman and His Orchestra - Smoke Gets In Your Eyes (1933)

Falkie2013

I can't resist posting this one too.

;D
"Felix! Felix! Felix the Cat!" (Paul Whiteman, 1928)

ASPIRE Big Band - Anything Goes

I love Cole Porter's music. I could listen to it all day and have.

Falkie, I won't be posting in any more of your threads because I see that you have already posted much with many links to other vids and I'm still listening to the one that I posted for you. I started it before I posted it for you. You may not be familiar with the original compositions, but the words have meaning too, and yes, very obscure like much of this forum is, and even if you don't do the research to investigate the lyrics, they should be understandable as recorded good enough. However I have been known to forgive if understanding is achieved in a way beneficial to the majority.

Everyone has their own musical tastes. I wouldn't dream of stopping YOU from listening to Zappa, he's just not my cup of tea.

I will listen to the video this evening after i get some sleep. My tech advisor woke me up after only 2 hours of sleep with a Skype call at 8 am. I am NOT a morning person.

Actually right now I'm IN the Walnut Creek Apple Store at the Genius Bar learning how to do stuff in Garage Band and Imovie.

I'd rather get my extra class amateur radio license and build a station. Maybe some day I'll be able to build a 160 meter 2 wavelength loop > 100 ft above ground on top of a mountain. After 1.5KW radiated power (+/- 3dB), it's antenna, antenna, antenna. Although a little different than telephone, w/< 100W and a good antenna, I could talk w/Jasmunda in real time w/as clear audio if we had good stations (pretty easily if band conditions permitting on 20 and 40 meters from what I've heard).

But thanks for the heads-up about what to expect walking into an Apple Store. If you run into Justin Bieber there, please say HI from me.

If I run into Justine Bieber anywhere, I'll be too busy skullfucking him to say "hi."

You know, Falkie must have a pretty good pair of man titties on him.  Fuck this podcast stuff, if he wants to monetize himself he needs a web cam, a Wonderbra, and some hot oil.

Listened to the first podcast earlier and thought the man who called in and was on until the end was quite interesting as well as polite.  But you were very rude to him, Falkie, even swearing at him at one point.  You wouldn't let him talk and even told him you knew more about the topic than he.  One can only wonder since he wasn't allowed to say much as you took over his call and talked at length. But one thing, you won't have many callers if you keep telling them you know much more than they.  That was one of the reasons Art excelled he never belittled any guest or caller nor did he try to give the impression that he knew more than they did about any subject.  He was too professional.  He always gave his guests and callers time to say what they had to say and let the listeners draw their own conclusions.  While he listened.  It was one of the reasons most of us loved and appreciated Art's interviewing skills.

I think he is talking about The General Musings thread. In Falkies world that was an honor to him until people turned it into mocking.

He, or someone, deleted the posts, but he said at least three times that I was "bashing" him and taking over THIS thread, not the Musings thread.

It didn't seem like a live broadcast.  There was no advance notice, and only one caller who sounded like he was speaking through a voice synthesizer to disguise his identity.  Falkie lost his place at one point; you could hear paper rattling and then he (re)read aloud the most recent part of the conversation before picking up where he left off.  I think this was more of a practice run rather than a real podcast.

Your point is well taken, though.  Falkie needs to decide what kind of "image" he's going to project.  Is it to be the avuncular host, a la Art Bell, the abusive curmudgeon a la Don Imus, the cheerfully civil Glenn Beck, or something else?  It's an important choice and one that any aspiring media figure will live or die upon.

This is constructive enough commentary DPS. I suggest Phil Hendrie doing Noory as one genre possibility.

MV/Liberace!

so what's with the yelling i've been told about in episode one of falkie's podcast?  is it fake yelling?  from this post, i get the impression it is.  i haven't listened yet, but if it's fake i'm less likely to do so.

There is less fake screaming in Bury Your Bone in My Butt Vol.3

The only thing real and unscripted was the big fart he ripped at the 52nd minute mark.

I desperately wanted to say something about that in the podcast thread, but I was trying to stay positive.  He displays a knack for the unintentionally camp not seen since the days of Ed Wood.

His bat may be corked but he has no trouble uncorking a good one at the 52nd minute mark.
