brig... and keep in mind, i'd only do this for you... the actual laptop bellgab was started on, a 2004 era toshiba laptop, is currently in morocco.  my wife and daughters are taking a trip to morocco in july and will return in october.  when they come back, i'm instructing my wife to return with the laptop (again, THE laptop used to start GNS/bellgab from a semi sleeper berth in pennsylvania), which i will then send to you.  you can place it above the fireplace, frame it and hang it on a wall, install some track lighting to show off its sleek lines... the possibilities are endless.  but the point is, you will own THE device that started it all.  it's almost as cool as if art had shipped me his old fax machine.  the history... ooooh, the history.

There needs to be a ceremony or at least a Gabbing Now video made of the momentous occasion when Brig unveils THE laptop that started it all. Also, I hope MV has wiped off any and all DNA from his single guy days off the laptop. Just sayin.

Toshiba pc's always got a bad rap if you ask me. I have had many over the years, no problems. Even have a Toshiba 55 in smart TV now ,like it a lot. When I left corp America I bagged windows and am a Mac guy now ljust ike Falkie. Even typing on an iPad mini now, shit I am going to go make some videos.... Not

on average, they're probably about as good as anything else.  most, if not all of the internal components are made by the same handful of companies (hard drive/motherboard/LCD), so on average, i'd be surprised if there's a major difference in laptop reliability from one company to another.  if people ask me what laptop to buy, i'll say asus (or lenovo, secondarily), but that's only because 1) the external plastic feels solid and durable, 2) when calling asus, you'll speak to an american who is capable of proper english use, and 3) their warranty is solid.  otherwise, i don't think it matters much.  brand definitely doesn't matter on a desktop, where i always tell people to forget the name and shop on specs/price.

the toshiba laptop in question worked great for years.  i probably used it longer than any other computer i've owned.  it's been to every major city in every state (except RI), and around the world multiple times.  i only began having problems with it when the DC power jack needed to be replaced.  unfortunately, this laptop, like many of its time, had the power jack soldered directly to the motherboard.  most modern laptops have that jack separated from the motherboard and connected to it with a wiring harness, so you just unplug, throw away, and replace with a new jack... problem solved.  but not this one.  putting those jacks directly on the motherboard could possibly be one of the stupidest design approaches in the history of mobile computing.

OMG!  My daughter and I were sitting gabbing about saving some money to purchase an MV laptop.  Now here's the part you will enjoy the most.  My daughter said there was probably no point, since I would probably have it encased in a glass display with lighting, hang it on the wall, and never use it.  Please feel no pressure MV , but if this ever happens, well, it just brings yet another tear to my eye that you would try to make this happen for me.  The intent is as heart moving as the actual accomplishment of the event.  IMO.

Far be it for me to criticise Brigg and I'll be gentle; promise. Senda couldn't care less who is kind, unkind, bad or good to him. He only and has only seen any other person but himself as a means to exploit whatever he can monetarily. He has no interest in practical or spiritual guidance; he just wants cash. He has no time for anyone who is worse off than himself; little for those better off than him;which does throw up the dichotomy of him refusing to work because the boss was making money off his back, yet supports Donald Trump!

He is in short, a low life pile of sputum. A festering boil that sadly inhabits California and has no incentive to be anything more than he is. That Brigg has for reasons best known to her, identified and tried to nurture some hidden redeeming aspects of Senda says far more about her kindly and generous spirit than it does for Senda's eye on what he can get from her. Friendship he has absolutely no interest in; he's a narcissist and unless you directly see him as the number one focus in your life and endeavor to make him richer, than you have no purpose. None.

I can't help it, and I don't want to really, it's my nature.  If the definition of "crazy" is the repetition of an action expecting different results, then yes, I'm crazy.  At least where human interaction is concerned.  It's pretty simple really.  My heart breaks when people, especially friends, fight.  My heart bursts with joy when a mutually satisfactory resolve is the outcome.

My lovely daughter is a very busy Housewife, with a very responsible full time job, her own house, and a teenage daughter of her own, and even she spends endless hours, when she has time to come over, gabbing about MV and bellgab happenings with me!   He is loved far beyond the boundaries of bellgab.  How far beyond?  Nobody knows for sure.

Thank you, Meatie Pie.  It helps me to have a "such is life" view.  I'm not a "PollyAnna."  I know some folks just plain don't like each other.  That's the way it goes sometimes.

Some people don't like me.  Some may say something to me, others say it with silence.  In fact, I'd find it a bit disturbing indeed, if I wasn't disliked by some folks.  But, there are the folks whose words I sift through.  Sometimes I find a gem in a pile of dirt.  Sometimes I find a pony in a pile of poop!
