No, me and others, have standards and have voiced our criticism.  Nancy just can't take constructive criticism AT ALL.  The criticism turns into a short rant because of her inability to self reflect.

Well to be exact, 5 of those posts were in this thread, one was about a specific guest (Basiago), and another was about a topic (Black eyed Kids).  I wouldn't call my first post of a single smiling emoji as a negative post.

Yes there is no doubt I will use BellGab to occasionally vent my frustration with topics, guests, or hosts.  I think that's partly why it's so popular?

I've posted a link to a comment on last nights show three times now which sums up the criticism she has received from many listeners since they have been on Dark Matter.  People criticizing Nancy for her constant interrupting is nothing new.

I'd suggest Nancy is the one with anger issues - the continual dusty old 1960s divisive feminism crap, constant references to the gender of who's doing or saying what, and insisting any criticism of her stems from misogyny.

I could agree with most of this, though not the 'anger issues' part - nobody's at their best when being baited on the internet. I'm sure one could dig up and isolate some unpleasant-seeming behavioural patterns of yours in the politics section, for example.

There is nothing constructive about calling someone a terrible host or telling them to get their shit together. Some of us actually have feelings and try very hard at what we do. The thing about feminism is that it is necessary. As someone who is a double minority (lesbian)and who still doesn't make as much as her male counter parts, I am grateful for the movement these women started. We still have a long way to go. Does this mean I hate men? No, but I am damn sure equal in the tech field as them and it's complete bullshit I don't make the same amount of money. I also have to put up with a lot of 'well all you need is a good dicking' cracks because I am an attractive woman who likes other women. Because you know, only butches and ugly women can be gay, and I just need a man to show me the right way. (By the way this is never funny at all, it's hurtful. Like I don't know what I like so a man needs to guide me?)So misogyny exists, whether you want it to or not.  Does that mean all men are misogynists, no it doesn't. I listened to a Future Theatre show awhile back because MV was the guest.  Afterwards someone posted complaints in general terms about Nancy that were about the same reaction I had, and then - like now - people rushed to her defense.  That poster was not wrong, and I posted exactly what I thought she does on the show in agreement - constantly interrupting everyone and jumping from topic to topic rather than letting them play out - because it's quite annoying.  Another poster agreed with this.   

For this we were called 'misogynistic.  That was her response.  And she didn't take it back when confronted.

It has become quite common in our society for people of a certain political persuasion to smear anyone they don't like, or who disagrees with them on anything, as 'racists', 'sexists', 'homophobes'.  You know, the same people who insist anyone who disagrees with, say, Obama on something are somehow automatically 'racist'.   This is incredibly disgusting, vile, and poisonous, and in our society it's about the worst thing one can say about someone else.  Smearing people as racist, sexist, etc when they are not, is just as bad as racism and sexism itself, and it should never be tolerated.

As far as 'baiting' her, anyone with, say, a podcast should expect commentary and welcome it as suggestions on how to improve.  It's seldom personal.  I was the one attacked and smeared - for offering a valid criticism - not her.  I doubt very much you can find any of my posts anywhere calling other posters names that have nothing to do with comments they've posted, or calling them names at all unless they started it.

Well, again, you've missed the point completely.  No one disputes these issues exist.  I would offer that if you have the same amount of experience and technical expertise, and/or if you are truly being harassed, you probably have a federal lawsuit. 

That these issues exist is one thing, it's quite another to smear someone with baseless accusations.  Please understand the difference. 

The other point is, yes these problems exist in our society but I'm not sure why she needs to inject this stuff into what is supposed to be a show on the paranormal as often as she does.  Do you?  Jeez, I remember one post of hers where she stated 'the men' were going to hate some show she was doing 'because it was going to be all women' hosts.  And she wasn't kidding.  Really Nancy?  Why did you think that?  These are not isolated instances, this is the mentality we're dealing with.

I listened to the show when MV was the guest - all I knew at the time was these were the people who had ghosted George Noory 's Worker in the Light books and his book of Late Night Recipes.  The only other times I've listened to the show were when Aldous was on and when they had someone named Pony Boy Sunset.

I do read this thread though, I think Nancy could be a pretty good host if she made a few adjustments.

Thanks for that last sentence, Paper*Boy. That gives me hope. There are precious few female voices talking about the paranormal with any degree of seriousness, and when the day comes that fully half of the shows are hosted or co-hosted by interesting women, these arguments won't be so stinging.

I think that is what is great about internet broadcasting...there are no gatekeepers like there used to be in media...you can put your show out there and see if you can win an audience based upon the merit of your talents...
