Thanks, and I'll take that as meaning plenty. lol
Sorry about the douchbag part. It's been a long day fighting the natives. Actually the stache is pretty cool. Resembles someone we all know though.

To all posters here,
I believe I may have gotten off to a bad start on this great forum. Someone yesterday, ripped me a new asshole for saying some of the posters need to get back on their meds. He was quite angry saying I should not judge those of you taking anti-depressives and anti-psychotics.
He was quite right. I read an arrival recently that stated 60% of Americans are on some form of mood enhancing drug, and that the number is expected to skyrocket as the pauperisation of America continues.
Soooo, I should've known that quite a number of these angry posters are probably unemployable, and /or on some form of medication. It was thoughtless of me, and I hope those of you, whose medicated sensibilities, I offended, will consider giving a brother (in Christ) another chance?
Thank you, and god bless.

I won't speak to the baby jesus or sky king, but welcome... sometimes the roughest roads have the best scenery... yeah Imma poet.

I'd rather have Bill Hicks back.

Bill Hicks - Revelations (1993)

Yeah...him too.

Also, about the craptoid posters that have been on stinking up the place...much like  used URINAL CAKES!

It's THEIR life, and THEY get a charge out of the attention. THEY make THEMSELVES laugh. It's THEIR entertainment.

I used to be pretty active on a couple of boards that were fairly popular...jumping with posts...so they would come buzzing around like flies...and stay too. Why do they come and stay? I surmise that it's because the other posters respond back and feed them their fodder.

They're goofball neckbeards who crave attention.

I know I'm no one special on this forum, and that my two cents will probably get passed by without much notice.

But here's my two cents anyway: Ignore them. They still might not go away, but ignore them anyway.

To set the example, this will be my last post that's about THEM.

Thanks for reading.

This "trial" Sirius is doing probably has NOTHING to do with Art. They do it every so often, especially right before Xmas.

No worries.  It's not like anything written on the internet is worth anything.  A witch's brew at best. Ron has a great stache

I wish I could recall which old show Art did where a woman called in, claiming to be an employee of a government facility (perhaps area 51) and she said a colleague of hers worked there and he was working on something top secret but there were these weird animals being found around the area and supposedly they were escaped experiments from the facility.

Anyone remember that one?

I have it as "Amazing Open Lines" on Feb 06, 2005. There were quite a few really good callers that night.

OT???    FWIW    Comments, from another forum under 'Howie's Birthday Bash', about Howard Stern on SXM, Opie & Anthony, etc.:

" $100M+ per annum isn't enough so Howard Stern sues SiriusXM for even more and now the "Please, sir, may I have another?" bunch on Sixth Ave. are throwing a "Birthday Bash" for him at the Hammerstein Ballroom on Jan. 31st. That means two and a half months of seeing the touched-up, face-lifted mug of this rapacious egomaniac on the home page (link below).

Meanwhile, Howie's lackeys continue to dump on talent that has never been as consistently entertaining, informative and insightful as they are today -- Opie & Anthony. They've had their valleys but they keep getting better while Stern gets lazier and ever more formulaic -- when he bothers to show up at all.
According to O&A this week, SiriusXM exec Scott Greenstein had been hounding them to have their own promotional event. So they came up with something (unspecified on the air) that as usual was fun for their fans and cost virtually nothing. O&A said Greenstein then announced that SiriusXM wanted $1M to do it, later trimmed to $350K. SiriusXM evidently expected O&A to find sponsors willing to shell out at least that much. There will be no promotion.

Needless to say, they're pissed. But they'd be happier if they could get the phones and a computer monitor fixed. It seems Mel Karmazin's ghost has yet to leave the building. "

Yep,  I listen some to O&A, they are much more interesting than Stern.  The show has non-stop issues with SiriusXM and since they are not Stern,  SiriusXM does not care...   On a daily basis, their listeners lose the show on the App and Online.  Their studio has many computer and phone issues and there is nothing O&A can do.

Did you hear the massive dump they took on SiriusXM's IT this past week or so?  Being frustrated with how most companies whore out their IT to temp agencies myself I found a certain joy in hearing them goof on how stupid and insufficient the IT process becomes when gay ass SLA's reset task times or just get taken advantage of.

Non sequitur post of the day:

the Singularity cometh...

Student Finds Way to Boost Conductivity 400x Totally by Accident

Accidental Discovery Dramatically Improves Electrical Conductivity

PULLMAN, Wash. â€" Quite by accident, Washington State University researchers have achieved a 400-fold increase in the electrical conductivity of a crystal simply by exposing it to light. The effect, which lasted for days after the light was turned off, could dramatically improve the performance of devices like computer chips.

WSU doctoral student Marianne Tarun chanced upon the discovery when she noticed that the conductivity of some strontium titanate shot up after it was left out one day. At first, she and her fellow researchers thought the sample was contaminated, but a series of experiments showed the effect was from light.

“It came by accident,” said Tarun. “It’s not something we expected. That makes it very exciting to share.”

The phenomenon they witnessedâ€"“persistent photoconductivity”â€"is a far cry from superconductivity, the complete lack of electrical resistance pursued by other physicists, usually using temperatures near absolute zero. But the fact that they’ve achieved this at room temperature makes the phenomenon more immediately practical.

And while other researchers have created persistent photoconductivity in other materials, this is the most dramatic display of the phenomenon.
The research, which was funded by the National Science Foundation, appears this month in the journal Physical Review Letters.

“The discovery of this effect at room temperature opens up new possibilities for practical devices,” said Matthew McCluskey, co-author of the paper and chair of WSU’s physics department. “In standard computer memory, information is stored on the surface of a computer chip or hard drive. A device using persistent photoconductivity, however, could store information throughout the entire volume of a crystal.”

This approach, called holographic memory, “could lead to huge increases in information capacity,” McCluskey said.

Strontium titanate and other oxides, which contain oxygen and two or more other elements, often display a dizzying variety of electronic phenomena, from the high resistance used for insulation to superconductivity’s lack of resistance.

“These diverse properties provide a fascinating playground for scientists but applications so far have been limited,” said McCluskey.

McCluskey, Tarun and physicist Farida Selim, now at Bowling Green State University, exposed a sample of strontium titanate to light for 10 minutes. Its improved conductivity lasted for days. They theorize that the light frees electrons in the material, letting it carry more current.

It 100 percent has nothing to do with Art. They run several free previews throughout the year, and this is one of the times they run the preview every year.

OnA are through next year, let them leave and do a podcast to slip further into irrelevancy where they don't have to deal with the overhead and will be happier for it.

I agree.  I think the next we'll hear from him is when word is leaked out that he's filed a suit against Sirius to disentangle himself from the non-compete clause.  Coz word WILL leak, and then he'll come on here to confirm it.  Betcha.

I think you're right, Ravenna.  Last I looked, he hasn't even logged on since the 15th with his post asking us to cease and desist flooding Sirius w/Free Art Bell stuff.  Prior to that he was logged on a lot.  I'm thinking he got the cease and desist from his attorney(s), too.

I'm hoping it doesn't come to a lawsuit, but that Sirius just says "oh, go ahead" and the next announcement will be "I'm baaaaaack".

There was a BellGabber who posted he was going to represent Art.  I don't recall who that was, but I don't think I've seen him around, either.  Don't know if that was bullshit, of course, but makes you wonder...

I've listened to other hosts complain about IT, and I kept thinking, "Oh, I should go to New York, work for SiriusXM, and start taking care of this stuff..."

Their complaints are not really THAT difficult to take care of, based on the symptoms described on the air.

I'm just trying to think of the practicality of this... if it lasts for days after limited exposure, than they would need to make sure it always gets exposed to light to make sure that it has that level of conductivity in it all the time... if they want to use it as a transistor, than they would want to not have a lingering effect.

I'm sure they'll figure something out, though.

Quote from: Pinoybipedalurinal on November 21, 2013, 05:52:38 AM
Is the name Falkie supposed to ring a bell? Sorry, it doesn't. I don't know why you told me you've known your GF for 37 years. That must put you in your 40s or 50s. You, at this age, can't commit to marriage? By this age it's hard to afford a car?! My friend, I'm sorry I've been so rough on you. I think you need to reflect on what you're doing right and wrong in your life, and make the necessary adjustments. Again, please accept my apology. Best of luck to you.

Excuse me, but there's are reasons why we've never gotten married and I'm not going to tell you or anyone why.
And I'm way past 40 or 50. However, like the couple who lives in separate houses but are quite happy together on the same property, we live apart because both of us are too set in their ways to change now.
There was a time when I went through the whole process of getting the ring early on and proposing.
But she didn't know me well enough then.
I got sick 5 years ago and can no longer work due to health issues and mobility issues and because I got robbed 3x at gunpoint at work and quit working before I got ill and couldn't work.
I would gladly work if I could.
I have someone on line on another forum who followed me here and started attacking me here for not working. He hates the faxt that I am a conservative as well as the fact that I get government disability and acts as if it comes out of HIS pocket. He's been attacking me for 12 years and I'm tired of it.
As for my not being able to afford a car, when you've not worked for that long and live on a disabled income, there's not enough money to buy a new car. When I was able to work, I did have working vehicles but haven't driven for 5 years due to a overeager DMV employee who reported false information and had my license suspended. There was no reason for me to fight it since I no longer had a car of my own. I'm in the process of getting my license back but my bad knee limits my ability to drive for long distances.
But that's why we bought the Prius and once both our credit is better eventually both of us will jointly buy a newer car than the one we had and maybe a new car in about 2 years or so. I've had one new car in my life and it was a lemon.
The woman is the love of my life and she's happy with me. That should be all that counts. Everyone who knows us or sees us thinks we're married because we act like an old married couple. We can't live in the same house with each other because she wants to do stuff her way, I do my way and each of us has different ideas as to how to do things.
But she comes over a couple of times a week. Hugs me all the time. We go out and enjoy being with each other.
That's what's important to us. Marriage is up to here and we have discussed it. But its not that important to us.
When we met each other it was love at first sight even when at times we broke up, we always got back together.
I love the woman even though at times she drives me nuts.
Apology accepted.
Kindly try not to attack people on here without realizing that not everyone is leading the same life as you.

I get the feeling that Sirius has no real interest in fixing the technical issues that are causing the drop-outs, etc., in the streaming audio.  It's probably beyond their own IT people's ability to fix and they don't want to spend the money to hire actually good outside IT people.  Hence, when Art did his thing where he asked for a year of free streaming audio on his website while they fixed the issues, it was never a deal they were going to go for as they have no intention of spending the funds it would take in order to hire really good IT people to fix the issue.

That's a reach on your part. The streaming problem doesn't sound so simple, which is why they promised Art a long term solution. Hopefully they're working on setting up a competent, global fix so that people worldwide can enjoy their product without fear of 1001 errors or timeouts. The fact that you need a phoney U.S. address to sign up is something they need to resolve ASAP.
