I'm a newspaper reporter, so I can say with a pretty fair amount of certainty that any libel suit by Jorch against Bellgab members (or any other forum for that matter) would hold absolutely zero weight in court. He is a public figure, and as such is held to a different libel standard than your typical individual. He would have to prove something called "actual malice" in his suit, which means he would have to convince the court that those accused of libeling him knowingly propagated deliberately false information or made specific statements about him with reckless disregard as to their truth or falseness.

Insults are not libel. Period. You can say that George Noory is a douchebag from now until kingdom come and there's absolutely nothing he can do about it. Now if you want to allege that he deliberately committed some type of crime or engaged in a specific act of shadiness or personal misconduct, you probably should have some sort of evidence to back it up. But I haven't seen anything here that would qualify in that regard. Almost all of the anti-Jorch speech on Bellgab is of the insult/satire variety, and that is 100% protected speech.

Well then, Art would have a much better case against those who have accused him in the past of killing his wife. Wonder who could have started that rumor....hmmmm

I love Art Bell more than I hate George Noory, in fact, I don't hate Mr. Noory. You won't find me spewing the vitriol his way as some other here do. Because even though I agree that "George Noory Sucks", I'm here as an Art Bell fan, not a George Noory hater. I realize to some that's one and the same, but to me, supporting the positive is way more important than piling on the negative. Because if you support the positive, ultimately, the negative will just fall away like the dead, useless skin it is.

Because a couple people PM'd me this morning asking for this info, I'm sorry, but this is the best I can do on almost no sleep and short notice.  There's much more to this than what's below, but it would take way too many words for me to either write today, or to expect anyone to bother reading.

This particular lawsuit threat was actually the second one he made toward the forum owners.  What you don't see on FF today are the 4 years of posts leading up to this, where George first tried to romance all the GNS-type posters who were saying mean things about him.   He actually posted MANY more times on FF than he has here on BellGab...so far.  He constantly lurked and posted in the LIVE thread while he was on the air and his guests thought he was listening to them.  He bullied and intimidated whoever he could to try to get them to stop being mean to him.  He got busted for using multiple fake I.D.s, including claiming that he was his own poor daughter having to read all this terrible stuff about her father.  He bribed Spike Mike (the permanent forum host of the LIVE thread) with $500 to disappear.  He bribed the forum owners by telling his radio audience that the FF needed money, giving out the URL multiple times, and pleading with his listeners to all go donate to the forum.  He gave an exclusive live AM radio interview to one of the FF users who happened to be an AM disc jockey who was most critical of him.   The string of dirty tricks he and Tommy played leading up to that interview is almost unbelievable.  Over the years, he demanded (and got) several people on FF banned for not liking him and continuing to post about it.   He finally spread enough grease on the skids that he got the forum owners to nuke nearly 4 years of posts, all of them gone.   Finally George had his way, then he left the forum never to return...because why should he?  No one was there anymore, certainly no Art Bell fans, and no people posting about how George Noory sucks.

If you ask George today, as he was asked in the GNS thread, he will say he quit posting on FF because it was "no more" after the untimely death of one of its owners.  That's a lie.  George quit posting on FF at least a year, I think actually a couple of years, before her death.  He quit posting there because he had been successful in turning it from the biggest, most thriving Art Bell forum on the internet into a dying husk of maybe 10 people posting about recipes.

I have not read Noory's post as I don't feel like getting angry today, but from your comments I have gleaned it is quite a doozey. On another note, I was thinking today that had Art been in the Philippines during the recent typhoon and died, this thread would be filled with something entirely different. So, though he is not currently on air, at least he is alive! NC are temporary. Death is forever.
