if george has an ulterior motive around here, and that's IF he does (which, frankly, i doubt), then it would be to destroy the forum.  unlike the fantastic forum, we're not going going to start purging certain posts for the purpose of getting shout outs on a radio show.  thus, if anyone has concerns in this regard, forget it.  have some dip.

What exactly happened to Fantastic Forum and what was GN's part? I missed this story, anyone care to elaborate?

I am on a paid month now and two free coming. What do I say....just express my displeasure with the no compete....or do we want him on his own. Whats the real goal here besides of course Free Art???

We want him out of his 2 year non compete.
He's done at sirius, sirius has made that known. He's NEVEr going back in sirius.

It's all about his two year non compete

If Art gets put of his NC, and I hope he does, it will be due to legal maneuvering.

i also think that's how it will happen, and for whatever my opinion is worth, i do think it's going to happen.  however, i don't share your pessimism where the viral campaign is concerned.

My silence is still for sale, Jorch. :)

Hahaha...Jorch was trying to buy-off Bateman not long ago.  Maybe he's tied-up working other deals at the moment.  :D

That or Pagan Man. He needs to come back on so you can ask him about Oates and his motives there.

Did he offer to buy you some new glasses or maybe a turkey sandwich on whole wheat?

no, but he promised to let me squeeze in next to tommy during their next convertible parade ride.  i'm jazzed.

yes.  i regretted after his phone call last week that i didn't ask about that... but he caught me by surprise calling in like that, and my mind was going bat shit crazy trying to round up all of the the questions people would probably want me to ask.

Noory is just like Jim Lahey.

1) always drunk on the job
2) when he's nice to you, it's so he can get close and eventually fuck you over.

Ok, I'll get bent. In the meantime: help with what? Get Art back on the air making money for SiriusXM? Oh no? Then why would they let him out of non compete? Oh, because you have been promised free streaming from the guy that walked put after six weeks? Suuuuuure, they'll get right on that. After all, they are loosing sleep over a former customer who is asking them to allow Art to provide (supposedly) a free product. The very same product they spent a lot of money promoting, engineering, setting up his studio, etc, etc, etc.

They already have customer support people at work 24/7, your calls don't mean shit to them for the reasons I stated above. Same with e-mails. If the circumstances were different (Art still on the job, legions of SUBSCRIBERS threatening to quit), this would be the right approach. Unfortunately, the fallout has already occurred and our star went AWOL. You have ZERO leverage.

So you think a campaign designed to be a nuisance from FORMER subscribers (if many ever were) demanding Art be let out of a NC so he can stream, for FREE, what SiriusXM signed a contract to generate revenue over is a winning strategy?

You're deluded.

If Art gets put of his NC, and I hope he does, it will be due to legal maneuvering.
And if you're right?  The viral campaign hurts nothing.
In fact, it raises awareness of Art's potential show, and rallies his audience.
What a win/win.  Good thing Art has a lawyer working on it as well.

We need to keep pushing the Free art Bell

A lot can be said for this viral campaigning.  I've told the story before but I had lost one of my cats a long time ago and he was picked up by a rescue org who refused to give him back to me.  "Somehow" their website went down and one of their sponsors was inundated with calls and emails from various sources.  The sponsor pressured the rescue org to give me my cat back.  My example is tiny compared to this but the situations are the same at the root.  Bad publicity like this is very poisonous to large corporate entities.   If enough trouble can be stirred up they will do anything to just make the problem go away or clean up a negative slate.

Yeah, they probably think we'll run out of gas. This can pick up more steam if we keep promoting it.

With all due respect I think your wrong about several things. I think they should be very concerned. A company don't need bad publicity and if you look at their face book page there is plenty of it. It is not all about Art either. I see a lot of pissed off people saying their streaming don't work worth a shit who could care less about Art . That's bad for them..and more proof they sold Art a faulty product which will help his cause when the court battle insues. I am sure their legal team is looking at it and am sure it will be SXM dropping the No Compete very soon. This nuisance you speak of and we are working hard on could and is costing them a bundle at least on the internet subscriber end which is the future...not beaming a signal to cars from a satilite. Already anyone with a $50 android phone with unlimited internet and a car made within the last ten years can plug in an aux cable and fire up Pandora or I heart Radio...the hell with SXM. Trust me, they don't need this. And they will not be able to survive on Truckers alone. I need to take a break from this..it has eaten up my last three days. I hope he gets out of it to...

Has there been any consideration to appealing to Sirius/XM's advertisers?

I still have to call Sirius and cancel my subscription. They're not going to get anywhere anyway because my credit card is currently maxxed out. But that aside, I dread talking to customer service people. The upsell attempts make me cringe.

First, sorry about your parrot.  I have a Sennie and couldn't bear to lose him.

As for SXM, when I called to cancel, it went well and quickly.  No pressure at all from them - surprised.

Afterwards, got an e-mail with a link to their survey.  You'll be guided through pages including blocks where you can write in reasons, etc.  Make sure you cite Art gone, and jorch in.

I'm always wary of George coming on here playing the Mr Nice Guy routine. What's he going to do tonight? Sidomize a baby seal on air that's wearing an Art mask.

#freeartbell

Howard Stern is the only one allowed to bugger animals on the air. It's in the contract.

I accidentally posted twice, then removed the first one to which you had already quoted. Now it looks like you replied to my post before I posted it! You should get on Coast with this precognitive skill.

Jorch: So, can you make a prediction?
Me: Yes. Tonight's show is going to suck.
Jorch: When I was a kid, I used to suck. I sucked so bad! Everyone cares about my childhood stories that go nowhere. CARNIVORA!

Ok. I just had a very interesting conversation with some one in programming named Charles.

I explained I was a customer and when dark matter was off the air I cancelled and that if Sirius is t going to bring art back then they should free him.
He said they had received an email recently that said to expect phone calls about this and that the official position is that he is not coming back. However he said that was the same position in regards to coast to coast and one of the reasons they brought it back was due to the demand.

He then explained that the company has excell spread sheet where they are documents inc all instances of people calling, emailing, or tweeting about dark matter and art and that the spreadsheet is so long it takes him a minute to scroll to the bottom and every few minutes it gets longer.
He also said today alone he had received countless phone calls about art bell since the switch board doesn't know what to do with all the phone calls. I then asked him if he's ever had to deal with anything like this and he said he's NEVER seen a response like this for a show being off Siriusxm. He said anything is possible and who knows what could happen.

The guy was frank and honest with me because I was nice to him and respectful. If you aren't calling in yelling it makes it easier to get information since these people are dealing with this so much.

So for all the people saying this isn't helping, get bent. It is and it will help if we continue it.

This is amazing! I love being a part of this. And all you guys with your passion! Such loveable lunatics!

Also I think people need to call into other shows on Sirius and spread the #freeartbell message baba booey style.
