Art Bell Quits Dark Matter

Ok. I just had a very interesting conversation with some one in programming named Charles.

I explained I was a customer and when dark matter was off the air I cancelled and that if Sirius is t going to bring art back then they should free him.
He said they had received an email recently that said to expect phone calls about this and that the official position is that he is not coming back. However he said that was the same position in regards to coast to coast and one of the reasons they brought it back was due to the demand.

He then explained that the company has excell spread sheet where they are documents inc all instances of people calling, emailing, or tweeting about dark matter and art and that the spreadsheet is so long it takes him a minute to scroll to the bottom and every few minutes it gets longer.
He also said today alone he had received countless phone calls about art bell since the switch board doesn't know what to do with all the phone calls. I then asked him if he's ever had to deal with anything like this and he said he's NEVER seen a response like this for a show being off Siriusxm. He said anything is possible and who knows what could happen.

The guy was frank and honest with me because I was nice to him and respectful. If you aren't calling in yelling it makes it easier to get information since these people are dealing with this so much.


So for all the people saying this isn't helping, get bent. It is and it will help if we continue it.

I think noory is getting a clue that you won't censor and or delete posts. But I also think he can still do some damage by splitting the members. Many times it isn't that difficult to begin with.

I don't think noory thinks he is a bad guy... not many people think themselves bad guys.

But we do have evidence in his own words that he can be vindictive. And he is not below deriving some pleasure by having us at each other's throats.

I can't work out how either Noory or Sirius are supposed to be the villains here. NCs are standard and exist for a reason, it's not some sneaky deal with the devil. If you want to find evidence that any public figure is a jerk you can certainly find it.

Oh, and my stream worked fine.

Anyway: I figure a personally-written email would work better on sSirius than spam, they must know how to work filters...

Shouldn't the message be for SiriusXM to bring Dark Matter back with Art as an independent broadcaster, free to stream the content on his website rather than release him from the non-compete? Cutting him loose would mean his fans don't subscribe or buy satellite receivers, so there's no benefit to them.

Sirius is hurting Art's listeners-- not just Art.  Art has a beautiful family, he's comfortably off.  Sure, he'd love to be broadcasting again, but if he doesn't, he'll be just fine.

So Sirius doesn't care, I suppose, that the listeners its hurting by refusing to let Art out of his NC, are all people who love radio...but for Sirius this is all just a big ho-hum.

Not that it will do any good I sent Noory a brief e-mail. I figured the thread is growing so massive if I just post it he may never see it...so I double my chance...hope I don't sound like a fuzzypuss bitch. I have been axtive on FB and SXM page..time to give them a call. Like I said power in numbers but it can't be the same person over and over.



I want to start by saying your last lengthy post was a good thing in my eyes. You realize Art is a big part of what you have today. Actually he is totally responsible for creating Coast to Coast AM. You really hurt Art when you had that Oats guy on. Consider for a moment if things were the other way around and it was you and your daughters who were victimized by that asshole. I know you would have probably shot the guy. I have herd you talk about what family is to you. Well Art loves his family too. Come on George, you have more power than you think. Coast to Coast needs you more than you need them. And now Art needs you, maybe it is a way to make up for the Oats thing. Even if you were told to interview the guy you should have said , No way. I know you are not all powerful but I do believe your a good guy. I can hear it in your voice. But I fear Premier has a lot to do with SXM not releasing Arts No Compete. Speak up for him. I would love to see both of you succeed. And get together as far as guests go so there is no copy guests. Flip quarters....whatever. Make it work. It would be an incredible move for Serius/XM to get serious and have both of your shows!!! Screw non compete!! Or at least let Art stream so he can clear up his legacy. We are not talking nuclear secrets here. Its competition and that's what makes America what she is. If you do have anything to do with Art beating the BS non compete it will go a long way with C2C and Art fans alike and will certainly earn my respect and subscribers to SXM and C2C Insider. In turn I'm sure many will keep their SXM and listen to one of your shows if not both. All 3 for me...but if not. None for me....Clyde here I come.
And how can you be the king of late night if your employers are keeping the guy who created your show....and would love to be doing his thing chained in the basement!!

Ok, I'll get bent. In the meantime: help with what? Get Art back on the air making money for SiriusXM? Oh no? Then why would they let him out of non compete? Oh, because you have been promised free streaming from the guy that walked put after six weeks? Suuuuuure, they'll get right on that. After all, they are loosing sleep over a former customer who is asking them to allow Art to provide (supposedly) a free product. The very same product they spent a lot of money promoting, engineering, setting up his studio, etc,etc, etc.

They already have customer support people at work 24/7, your calls don't mean shit to them for the reasons I stated above. Same with e-mails. If the circumstances were different (Art still on the job, legions of SUBSCRIBERS threatening to quit), this would be the right approach. Unfortunately, the fallout has already occurred and our star went AWOL. You have ZERO leverage.

So you think a campaign designed to be a nuisance from FORMER subscribers (if many ever were) demanding Art be let out of a NC so he can stream, for FREE, what SiriusXM signed a contract to generate revenue over is a winning strategy?

If Art gets put of his NC, and I hope he does, it will be due to legal maneuvering.
