You are absolutely right. Art needs SiriusXm in order to stay viable. A live show exclusively online will not generate millions of listeners. Of course the 'potential' is there but it's not realistic.

MV brought up the example of Rollye James. I enjoy listening to her show online but its the same 10-15 people calling all the time. Art needs the trucker audience listening the the physical radios in their vehicles. And Art has to accept the reality of cell phones. They suck yes but that's the new way.

SiriusXm was giving him everything he wanted. An 800 Number, extending that number into Canada. Increased bandwidth to distribute the show. A 4 hour time out on the web player. His archive shows being available for like 25 years or whatever it was. I'm sure I'm missing something too. But pirating his own show was an unreasonable demand.

I really hope SiriusXm says yes to Art working an an independent broadcaster. I can't see why they wouldn't... unless it was to Spite him, which is also entirely possible.

I agree with your take on this.  If only he would have waited and thought about it -- checked in here and seen the arguments you guys presented for not taking the suicide jump.  I think there are more reasons (again, presented here) why Sirius wouldn't be willing to go that route -- for example, setting a precedent that other talent may demand when ultimately it's against their business model.  And with their removal of Art's name and shows from Sirius, I think they've spoken loud and clear.  If they'd been considering it, I don't think they would have just NOT been in contact with Art.  "Hey Art, we're giving this some thought, it would be a first for us, we have to determine if it would be beneficial, hang on for a few days" or whatever.  Silence.  No way would he get a large enough audience from only an online show.  If he can't do terrestrial radio, I think Sirius was his next best bet.  Don't know where he goes from here.

We are long time listeners and fans. Please, if you do come back a suggestion is in order; get your paranormal game back on! It was very obvious listening to your back and forth discussions that your paranormal game is off a bit. On you older shows you appeared more on top of things, more aware of fresh news, and more aware of the latest in the paranormal, science, and space field. We assume you probably kept up with these topics on a daily basis back then. Listening to you on your recent shows, that awareness to the recent events or current activities of the fields mentioned were just not as sharp, or even present. Please do not take this as a bitter rant, but take it as a plea for that old spark.
And we must add, those GIS EVP audio clips, the newer ones, very sad and pathetic. Clearly manufactured by current means of audio manipulation. EVP just don't sound like that. A quick read of a Thomas Edison book outlining how complex speech is produced will make one aware that a spirit or ghost is not able of producing such audio, as GIS presented.

Just thinking outside of the box.  There are plenty of reasons that can be picked out to say that it won't happen, and they are entirely valid. Sometimes though, there are elements that we can't account for in our bullet proof logic, as they are outside the scope of view. I'm betting on that.

Of course, most outfits like to release bad news at the end of the week and good news at the start of the week.  At this point, though, I'm not sure if Sirius considers Art to be bad news or good news.

It would be great if he can do a show but, it's not the end of the world .....

It's disgusting that some people get that huge and G*d knows I have enough problems with my own weight. Illness and inability to go out when I was sick 3 times led to that.
But with you showing these over and over is obsessive.
And its ruining the discussion of what we can do ( if anything ) to try to get Art back on the air.
