You know listening to the stream on artbell.com kinda reminds me of when the sic-fi channel came out.  for weeks it was like looking at a screen savor all in anticipation for the show the channel to premier. lol

That's all good and well but the link you provided above often showed only 100 to max 350 people on at once.

Could it handle thousands? Not sure what the amount of people listening live online is but could it handle it?

i think it was a test of the stream, not the infrastructure. its easy to scale up icecast streams to meet the demands of 10000+, but i think they wanted to know how icecast would work as a streaming format.

Independent Broadcaster as many other Host's do on Sirius/XM which simply means we get no
pay and are then able to stream or even be on Broadcast stations at the same time. However we
said we would be exclusivly on Sirius/XM and only stream. They said they would activly consider the
proposal and they may well, be but as of yet no word. It is a shame because it woulkd have been a
big hit in my opinion. I will keep you informed of any change.

Art, if you can stream as an independent I would suggest you do a a couiple hour interview show. I'm not sure the call in works anymore.

Have at least 11 pages to get up to speed.  But- not to be overly optimistic...even Art wrote not to expect results right away....not necessarily today (Thursday). 

Let's see what happens.  Maybe not on SXM, but somehow, he'll return.

Yeah, but in two years if Sirius doesn't let him out of his non-compete?  That seems forever.  Who wants to suddenly start working again at 70?  Although I suppose if you love what you do, it's not work.

This sounds like shouting at a bureaucratic brick wall.  "Actively consider" is corporate-speak for "We'll get back to you," "We'll talk later," "We'll have a meeting and get back to you."  Unless they've specified a time frame in which they'll respond or made some effort to communicate beyond vague promises, there's no reason to think they are considering it at all.  Hope you're looking at other options.

But how many of those Host's quit their shows ( thus start burning their bridges ) and have their request to be independent then accepted?

You may have noticed but your past shows are going to expire soon, and DM has been removed from the schedule, today.  Does that give you an idea of their answer?

I really, really hope they accept your proposal but it just doesn't look good :-(
