Art's still online. he is probably typing a long message..... not good

a short response would have been more likely to say see you on the air tonight or monday or something.

A long response is bad.

maybe, but he could be reading 50+ pages of shite from the last 24 hrs :)

Thanks dan7800!  Here goes sumpin!  Or however Snoory says it.

You mean "sumpthins go'n on?"  I think that may be the problem.  Nothing's going on.

Such a shame, I read they had a budget of 4 million an episode.  AFAIK Game of Thrones has a budget of 5 million per episode.

Game of Thrones is fabulous:  one of the best shows on HBO.  I'm a huge fan of the books, and was so pleased when the TV show almost lived up to them.

Maybe he's waiting for Ft. Rock to release the scorpion army.

you do not know this to be fact.  you're presenting speculation and trying to spin it as common knowledge.  you say it with such certainty, too.

opie and anthony are also on siriusxm.  they say the company will give them ZERO information about the number of people who listen to their show.  i see no reason to believe art is any different.

Also, if they are trying to figure out how many are listening, without taking into consideration the numbers of people listening On Demand, then Sirius' numbers on listenership would be skewed.  I listen mostly On Demand, and I bet a lot of others do, too.  In my FB group, Art Bell Fans, most of the members in there have posted that they, also, listen On Demand.  It's one of the few perks of even having a Sirius subscription.

i don't know why he would say that, but speculation is speculation.
In one of his statements he mentioned that if you were listening closley you would know what he was referring to.
The callers he was getting were minimal and I think it was bothering him to be getting the same people on air all of the time.

However on demand listeners do not hear commercials. Also they are unable to call into the show so as to contribute to the "caller base"

Well theres a lot of people on here alone, need to get off their butt and call if the show comes back.

I was at Church this morning and the preacher made a few references to Art Bell's departure.

A few verses he gave:

Romans 8:38-39 “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the broadcasting talent of Art Bell.”

Second Corinthians 4:16-18 “So we do not lose heart. Though the likelihood Art will get out of his noncompete OR be able to broadcast again on Sirius is wasting away, the joy that we will feel when he comes back in two fucking years is growing day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”

I took dan7800 website and got jaz's 1-866-635-2349 number to cancel my subsciption at Sirius.  The first call got me a polite Indian lady who could barely speak English, who told me they were having server computer errors, but that if I called that same number a second time I might be routed to someone else who may not have such errors and could help.

When I called again, I got a very not polite Indian gentleman with better English who said their volume was exceeding their capacity, and I would have to wait quite some time to talk to someone.  I said I would call back.

And I hope jas, to be in the position of quiting Sirius and then discovering Art has been retained.  I would be glad to do that, and will tell Sirius I will return immediately upon his return, if he leaves, and if he returns.

That's the crux. Being on satellite means some of the "base" will come with, but for the most part the audience has to be rebuilt from the ground up (in more than a month and a half).

Were the callers great? No.
Would they have been in another month? Who knows?

Are you sure you weren't calling the Affordable Care Act phone number?

Exactly, Art jumped the gun a little early and didnt let it blossom. He probably shou
D have let everyone who called take up time welcoming him back instead of force the whole Roswells thing.

I am just relaxed. No anxiety here. Just waiting for the good news that is bound to come very soon! I know it is all going to work out. I just know it.

Now I like you.
Im with nighthawk

There's some Scuttlebutt going around that Ed Dames might be Art's replacement as soon as a deal can be reached. It makes sense because, as it stands now, Jay Thomas is being re-run three times a goddamn day.

I'm pulling for Steve Quayle.   All Angels   All Giants   All Lunacy    All the time............

Bonanza Pilot

Is that Dames with his Ukrainian mail order bride?

Surmo

I'm pulling for the Numbers lady.  That would punish Sirius for their role in this.
And there would be no problem with the system handling the (non) volume of
listeners.

Ahaha. Brilliant.

Well the hell with this I'm going to have a nap. I'll be back to the vigil later on. Take care all, whatever happens... happens.
