Hey, welcome to the forum. Glad you joined.
And sorry that you had to wade through all the muck. We've been flooded with trolls for the past few days.
I hope you enjoy the forum, and post often!  :)

Thank you!

I've tried to follow along in the live discussion thread a few times but find myself missing parts of the show... I've got to work on my multitasking I guess.

George is Uncle Jack. Tommy is Todd. Premiere is Lydia.

I think Ed Dames is Uncle Jack.

I'm trying to figure out who Gustavo Fringe would be. Probably Malachi Martin.

tertiaryimam

No, Sean David Morton is Saul Goodman.

Jesse Pinkman is HOAGLAND.

And Art Bell is like meth.

Good while it lasts... which ain't long.

That's the best answer I've heard so far.

Who would George be?  :o
George wouldn't be anywhere. He'd miss it entirely. He'd be eating and sleeping somewhere ::)

People would join Sirius to get access to the archive and all the other benefits Sirius has to offer, like a plethora of good music, good radio shows, etc.

Art could even give out "Insider Shit" for the subscribers. No problem. And anyone could listen at any time.

The live stream would just be live --- that's it. No archive. No special shit. Nothing. Sirius saves 75k a year and ALL ADVERTISERS COVERAGE IS BOOSTED EXPONENTIALLY.

Tell me if you think I'm wrong.

Not sure if archives would be available under this arrangement. Programs that aren't owned by Sirius XM haven't been made available this way. Perhaps it would need to be a downloaded podcast supplied by ArtBell.com.

I disagree with this, despite there being a number of cruel comments throughout the thread. Posters should have been more cordial but you have to remember that Art posted a message on Facebook, deleted it, and everyone was left in a panic, asking themselves "Are we losing him again?" The shock, anger and hurt in this thread were from fans who felt that the carpet had been pulled out from under them... now we have hope that he'll be back on with Dark Matter tomorrow night. Time to send SiriusXM messages in a show of support and see if they accept.

I would like to thank people like shell88, tertiaryimam, Spinner and others too numerous to name who have been providing much useful information to keep the battle moving forward.  After seeing loads and loads of crap for so many days (well, three or four, but it seems like an eternity) by the Bell haters or at least flip-floppers, it is nice to put that behind us (fingers crossed) with efforts like these.

Hmmm. I wonder what the story is behind the Noncompete. That's the only fly in this rug.

my nipples are hard

Rub some hot pizza rolls on them in a circular motion. That'll learn 'em.

I know they have no say, but they will forward the emails to the appropriate person. The more people receive emails about Art, the better. :)
It's best to know your e-mail got sent to the right place straight off by sending it yourself.
I don't trust customer care workers.  Their job is to deflect the heat and they don't get paid enough to always do a decent job. jmo

Yup, how much "anti-Bell" sentiment existed here as of this past weekend? A serial quitter, uh, quitting after 6 weeks shouldn't be treated as "thank you sir, shit in my hat to make it fit better"...then he blames US.

Bigfoot

So can someone explain to me just what SXM gets out of the proposed arrangement?

They pay the host (and his team), build him a studio, put him on air after advertising his return, and I'm sure I'm neglecting lots of other things...

all to have him give away the product for free online?

It sounds like he's trying to restructure his deal with Sirius as to not have to compete with them, but be an independent broadcaster kind of "distributed" through their network.

+1000 My thanks as well to the positive folks... and to Art of course! Hopefully things will work out and soon.  :D

Is this the same guy who went to school on Mars with Obama?

That would definitely explain the pipe in photo #9.

not doubting you, but how did he blame "us"?

Free programming. Additional subscribers. Plus it doesn't hurt their negotiation with other host as he techinically independent broadcaster.  Art has also agreed to be exclusive. There is a predicent for this with glen beck.

That somebody here complained about his Halloween show. That apparently upset him.

I for one would keep streaming xm. I'll get a radio once Art gets settled down - if he gets back on the air.  I listen to the 10:00pm replays because I work at nights, and I like to have the on demand feature for shows I fall asleep on cause I'm tired.

I would keep Sirius for the on demand feature:  I've found that very convenient, and as I've said before, rarely listened live coz it was so handy.

Is it verified they built him a studio? As in, they built one in Pahrump?

You're sort of right. As I understand it, all art wants is to have his show stream for free. Now, it's tricky, I know, but what does Sirius have to lose if they let him just stream it for free, live, and quit paying him 75k a year?

They can still sell ad revenue. If I were Sirius, I'd tell art that we'll do it but give us 20 more minutes of adds. Then part of the advertiser package on the show is that it goes worldwide to millions of people, rather than subscribers, strictly.

If I'm wrong, let me know. I'm fairly confident art and people at Sirius are reading this and are paying especial attention to my posts for obvious reasons.

In this day and age of DVR's and On Demand tv etc, I think a lot of people will pay for the on demand option. I would anyway. Most people can't listen live every night I would think. If that option is taken away by Sirius in a new deal, I can't see a reason to subscribe then for sure.

Also what's better for sirius art bell or jay Thomas or whoever reruns.

If they touch Night Gallery, jihad will follow.

The Night Gallery they're playing tonight was directed by Spielberg. Guest stars include Al Lewis and Tom Bosley. Retro heaven, baby.
