Nice customer relations.  Sorry, I don't eat what your serving.

Just how they want you to feel.  I'm not the one serving the shit, I got out of that quagmire ten years ago.  You are welcome to stay in it, my friend.

Funny how the streaming works perfectly fine when I stream his show, Howard Stern's, or NFL Radio's. I've never had a streaming problem on my PC's, iPhone, or iPad.

Funny, how many of us never had a streaming problem with SiriusXM either. Yet somehow that is a Sirius problem?  ::)

I haven't read a single racial slur in this whole thread.

Oh, so this is your fault then.  ;)  ;D

carry on, carry on. Wait, wait--are you allowed to carry anything while being a member of your caste? Better check.

Another thing - if this was such a systemic problem, wouldn't fans of other shows (Stern, NASCAR, NHL, NBA, etc.) be having the same issues?

And it clearly can't be because their is an inordinate amount of server load during Art's shows - Art himself said that the caller/listener base was too low.

On his first night back, he said that nothing bothered him more than being called a serial retiree. Less than 2 months later, he absolutely validated that label. That is not even debatable at this point.

That's why the internet stream excuse doesn't fly; Art is trying to save face and it's not working.

This is rather OT, but I must tell you--I actually HAVE done exactly that, and the results have been nothing short of thrilling and rewarding, in both my personal and professional life.

I think you meant "telling your boss" up there, but that's okay, I can tell you weren't hired for your linguistic proficiency.

Bullshit!

Oh, and kiss my ass with you're self-esteem boosting critiques of others. My education far exceeds yours unless you have the letters, M.D or PhD after your name.

I just can't see being on indie channel on SiriusXM to bring in the kind of listeners than terrestrial radio did. I think Dark Matter was more of a hobby for Art than anything else.

No, we live in the real world, where if you CONTINUALLY fuck over your listeners, try to force your boss into doing things that are completely outside of their business model, and repeatedly take your ball and go home when things don't go your way, people get angry. Any hostility that Art is receiving is of Art's doing, this is HIS FAULT. Sirius/XM wasn't going to take him off the air, he made a threat to them, after six week of "work", and they (rightfully) said that they don't give programming away for free, he didn't like that answer, and being the petulant child that he is, quits.

If that is somehow unreasonable to you, then go be a new employee somewhere, and after 30 days on the job, start telling your employee to do things and say if they don't do them, you will quit, and see what happens.

Art started with the demands day 1.

SiriusXM bowed to every whim until art told them to give away their primary product (content) for free or else.  Never mind that the show was already streamed illegally 5 different ways, that who cares if some dope in Zimbabwe couldn't tune in to the official stream.

But yours is quite appropriate, as in retarded, of low mental capability, just like your arguments and defense of an indefensible situation.

Hahahaha... thanks, Falkie.

I can accept that there may have been issues; I just think Art resorting to quitting like he always does was just absurd. It really changes my view on everything this time around. Maybe something could have been done if Art didn't act like the sky was falling if his demand was unmet. That's the problem I have here. Dropping everything and abandoning ship.

Albert Einstein had a learning disability and he came out ok, but if it makes you feel better about yourself, pointing out the grammatical errors others make, then more power to you. It only speaks to how little real mental capabilities you have when rather than replying to a person's points, you take issue with punctuation marks and other mistakes.

Do you have some kind of problem with that?

I don't take issue with it, but it is impossible to take issue with the points of one, if one has transmitted those points with accompanying transmission errors.

Rest assured, I await with bated breath for fully proof-read rejoinders to parade past my field of vision. Count on it.

Funny, how many of us never had a streaming problem with SiriusXM either. Yet somehow that is a Sirius problem?  ::)

I had a problem with the Sirius streaming, on both my Kindle and on my PC, about 3-4 times (and this out of many hours and SIX WEEKS of listening to the show).  It wasn't a huge deal.  The audio would stop, I would click out of the Sirius player, click back into it and the audio would stream again.  Maybe 20 seconds, max, to do all that and correct thd drop-out.  So I just don't understand about all these reports of people complaining about the audio dropping out all the time.  Maybe it was much less stable on the kind of reception that a cell phone gets?  Since I don't  have a smart phone, I never did listen to it that way.

I'm wondering if the listenership to the show was just lower than expected, and in order to save face Art is saying it was due to problems with the audio stream dropping out too often, and people getting frustrated in their listening, and quitting listening to the show (due to that), rather than the truth of the matter:  people just weren't listening to the show, period.  I would have still listened to the show if the audio had dropped out five times a night:  a 20 second, two-clicks remedy to fix it:  no big deal at all.  That being said, I felt Art was only on his game part of the time.  Sometimes, he sounded disengaged to me and would let the guest ramble on for far too long before interjecting.  It would depend on the night though, coz other nights he was brilliant and just like the old Art Bell that I loved.

I also wonder if Art just found the demands of doing all that reading of guests' books, the prep-work, and all the other business involved with being the host of a national radio show, more demanding than he really wanted to deal with.  He may be using this whole "Sirius won't let me live stream the show on my website" thing as an excuse to back out altogether coz he found it wasn't as fun or fulfilling as it had once been for him.

Altogether, though, I am disappointed in Art, and I think going out this way, if this is his final exit, tarnishes his legacy rather badly.  He got a lot of people's hopes up that he was "really back," and people invested some sums of money in buying radios and paying for subscriptions that they will now have to hope they can easily cancel.  Once again, he leaves us all in the lurch, for a somewhat dubious reason.  I know that Art did not like being referred to as a "serial retirerer," but at this point it's sort of looking like he is one:  this latest drama is just another excuse to back out of dealing, and retire.  Not impressed.

I spelled the word correctly, I stand by my implication, no, I have no realization of that opinion, and I'm not defending Art at all.

Anything else you'd like to manufacture up out of whole cloth and then attribute to me, as though it were my position? I have all fucking day to deal with that, thanks.

I believe Coast would be a far better show if Tommy could find the mute switch for Noory's mic.  ;D
