Thanks Paul for the info...

Here is the truth of what happened.  Art gave it 7 weeks, and Sirius could not get it together enough for his listeners/callers to be able to reasonably listen.  I think I had the worst connection.   By the way.  I listened last night, and still had it cut out constantly.  So I am sure when you sign a contract, the "other" side has to fulfill their part.  They didn't/can't and Art left.  Case closed.  Art wins!

SiriusXM has existed for close to a decade.  I've been a subscriber for about 6 years.  I've never had an issue with streaming, the app, or a radio.     You just said "I think I had the worst connection".. because it is likely on your end, you had an issue with your connection/receiver.

I don't see any other broadcasters on Sirius that I listen to (Stern, Jason Ellis, Rotten Tomatoes, and a few others), having any issues with the companies delivery system.

The company delivered on its promises - Art didn't deliver on his.   I loved every moment of DM, and I wish it would come back.. but he is the one who quit.

Thank you. You read loud and clear. You're much too polite for this crowd btw, but thanks for sticking with. You would be a wise choice for executive producer of my imaginary late night radio broadcast in which we do naked open lines. I mean, we wear no clothes and take calls only from the disrobed.

But anyway, a few serious queries you don't need to respond if it harshes your mellow.

Concerning the NC contract, which I understand may be unknown and/or confidential-

Does the NC carry a payable fine?
What of Art doing a stream only show?
What of Art appearing as a guest for 4 hrs on another cabcast show?

Let me tell you something else about Paul.  I'd suggested a couple of guests and I got responses from him!  Most bookers would either just ignore you or send back a pre-fab "thank you for your input" note, but Paul personally responded, PLUS, after he'd spoken to one person's rep, took the time to drop me a note to let me know they had been in contact and were planning on scheduling the guest in January after his new book was published.  And I know I'm not the only one -- he responded to a friend of mine, too.  VERY impressed!  Class act.

I don't see a single winner.

Dudes, I have been there!  It's real!  I watched Notre Dame getting their collective green and gold asses kicked by USC on a gloomy October Saturday... During halftime, the rain began and the leprechauns came out.  A 17-point deficit slowly disappeared, and with a minute to go, ND took the lead and won.  Best damn sports experience I ever had.

A father and son were playing catch in front of the stadium before the game.  I asked them to throw me the ball so that I could say I caught a pass at Notre Dame.  ;D

Yes, we believe you.

I think the ads are tied to the cookies in your whatchamacalleit. I am getting all sorts of ads for cosmetics and hair products... My wife uses this computer.

So if you are very selective with your browsing, there may not be any ads targeted through Art's site.

You're right.  I'm guessing I'm the only one getting ads for Tatcha Japanese Cleansing oil, right?  Seeing those (and other) ads is like looking at my "recently visited" list.  Spooky.

Geez... you don't have to talk about me like I'm dead.

I've got thick skin. And I stand by my comments. :)

Coz, rock on man.  Good sport, you.  I admit I was laughing my ass off over those meme pics - but not because they were ribbing you but because they have humorous merit on their own for anyone like me who's worked for years in the programming/techie world, and who also, like me love everything nerdy from sci-fi books to role playing games to esoteric discsussions about network architectures.  :)

There are many transient or inherent technical reasons for a bad Internet connection, such as localized congestion and insufficient bandwidth.  Many of us, me included, never had any problems with the SiriusXM player nor the stream.  It was wonderful to hear Art loud and clear on such a technically advanced system that incorporated satellite and Internet means of communication.  Art had it made in the shade with almost no commercials and a free hand to drive Dark Matter to wherever he wanted to go in the night.  Yes, I'm bummed.

It's good to have a special place that we can go to when we feel unsafe or lonely. Mine is in Mexico.

Agreed. Art will have far less listeners if he goes online-only through his website, and will almost completely cut out people who listen in their cars.
No it wont...just about everyone has an Android Phone or iPhone....fire it up and listen. And SXM if he stays and they allow this expiriment

Have you been ever been able to capture any good photographs, or is your camera shaky and inferior like everyone elses?  ::)

If an asteroid were beaten and abused, would it be a mean asteroid?

On an unrelated note, Jay Weidner's documentary "Kubrick's Odyssey Pt. 1" has convinced me irrevocably that Kubrick fakes the Moon landings utilizing front screen projection no doubt.

I'm talking Westboro style conviction, now. So don't make fun of me.

[derived from the classic Noory quote: "I was jumping over chairs and knocking them over with my back feet."]

I wonder if Art's got his place in Pharump up for lease yet.  Maybe he just locks it all up.

Now, is that the moon landing fake variety of the "total fraud" or the "it was filmed on a soundstage in NV (by Kubrick) because they couldn't actually film on the moon at that time" variety?

While the moon landings never happened, I believe that 2001 was filmed on the moon.
