Uhm, that storm is headed for the Visayas, where my WIFE lives, NOT Luzon, where Art lived.  Incdentally, I'm worried sick for her and her family there, and everybody there.

Not that I'm one to talk living in an earthquake zone, but there's no way I'd live on an island with no where to run if the manure hits the fan.
Look what keeps happening to New Zealand everytime they get a major quake.
At least on the mainland one can drive somewhere at some point and move away from the area.
On an island, you're still subject to tsunamis.

Yeah, that's not the greatest idea ever.  If Art must steal Rush Limbaugh's "dittos" thing, why not go with "Pahrumps."  It's sounds funnier to me.  "Hey, Art, mega Pahrumps..."

Hey Art,

I regularly lurk in this forum but I don't post much. I was surprised how quickly people pull the knives out here but I realize that some of them put a good bit of money into Sirius. I have about 3 close friends who all listened to your show in the past and to Dark Matter now, I want you to know we are all supportive of your decision. I could tell it was tough to find good calls; when you're trying to get the kind of stories your program usually showcases in open lines you need a large pool of people listening to pull from.

2 quick points:

1. Even without the callers your interviewing skills are remarkable and I could listen to you interrogat---uh interview a guest all day ;) I realize this doesn't fix anything about what's troubling you but I think you should realize that YOU are a big reason the show is successful, remember, C2C has that large volume of calls but without a host that can drive the conversation it doesn't matter.

2. You really need to drive home how much money could be made through advertising if you went free streaming. The advertising alone would make Sirius oodles if they only realized how large of a viewership you would gain. They are sitting on an unused gold mine.

I hope to hear you again in some format soon Art, good luck!

Bell's site now says " We have found ways to deal with the streaming issue.  It is now just a contractual issue".....ya.  I like the word "just".

I agree with the gal over at artbell.com who said

"You know....even air traffic control is better than Noory"

I'm going to print up a thousand copies of this and send them to Sirius. Art bell should take heed too:

That one air traffic controller guy talks so fast he sounds like one of those 'disclaimer guys' at the end of commercials.

It definitely is a more "edge of your seat"  type of broadcasting, without the grinding annoyance.

Keith is asking for feedback on http://artbell.com/testing-a-potential-live-streaming-solution/.   It looks like he would want to know the platform you're using if it's not working.

I'm using Safari. Are we supposed to hear traffic to and from the Los Angeles Airport tower ?
It's kind of cool to hear.
By the by, to get in the proper mood, I'm sitting here eating a Red Baron Pizza.
Haven't eaten anything all day but feel good as the final monthly bill is now paid.
;D

Would it help if we put dog shit in a paper bag, light it on fire and leave it on George's front porch, then ring his doorbell and run for the hills?
Dave would just heat his pizza rolls with the flaming bag.  :D

Just think...in the air, in a tower...wherever...they're broadcasting. Then Art sucks up the signal and pipes it through the internets and...voila...here I am...in my skivies, in my bed, staring at the soft glow of my laptop listening to it. All the while reading this thread. It's times like this that I really enjoy living in our day and age.

Rage on...rage on

I'm having dinner, listening to the LV flights, watching Big Bang Theory (muted, with subtitles), all while Ebaying and forum surfing. And I don't even have skivvies on.

A wonderful age it is.

Mark me down in the  cautiously optimistic colum.
I want to believe, but the events of this week has me shell shocked. So I will wait for official word from Art or P Paul before I celebrate.

Listening to the stream test tonight somehow took me back to this crazy kid's show with adult handed puppets trying to make their way back from space. "Heaven save us, what kind of machines can these be...?"  ???

And was too. I picked up 2 tapes tonight for a buck. Jonny Quest and Davy Crockett : King of the Wild Frontier.
We were thinking of buying a DVD/VCR combo for a friend because her VCR is eating tapes. $ 168 at Walmart.
WTF?
She's the last of my gf's friends still alive from elementary school and yes she still watches tapes.
She's even worse off moneywise than we are as her daughter moved out leaving her to pay rent on a house by herself.
A Funai Blu Ray with wifi is going for only $ 58.
A Sony Blu Ray player with DVD and wifi is $ 99 down from $ 129.
Both at Walmart.
