Here is the truth, no I did not check out the state of their streaming. Before I even
joined Sirius/XM I was told they have great streaming to the U.S. Canada AND Worldwide.
In fact I have that in writing. It was my own fault for assuming it worked correctly. I should
have checked but I am a Talk Host, not an investigator.

                                                                                               Art
Most of us agree Art. I believe, as do you, that you were a little mislead by Sirius. I think you hit it right on the nose when you said streaming and podcasting is the future. I also believe, that you will one day lead the pack and revolutionize the way we get our talk entertainment. Thanks for the update and looking forward to hearing you again. Whatever the medium.

You didn't even do a google search?

You'd think that'd be a little important if streaming was the linchpin of your return?

I'm baffled by your decisions.

Nighthawk

Art I still want to know if you still hang out on 80. Or if you run echo link still? I am not so into echo link but I use it occasionally.

McPhallus

If what you have in writing about their streaming quality is specific, and the actual result did not meet the written guarantee, I would think that might be useful in getting out of the NC.

Sock it to them.

This may of been mentioned, but if Sirius lied to Art about the quality and reach of their streaming, wouldn't that be a breach of contract?

Technically it does reach overseas. It's just that unless you are a US resident with a US credit card you cannot purchase a subscription to allow it to work overseas.

As to the quality that is another issue entirely. I had only one issue and I had another issue the other day listening to a music channel but the amount of people complaining cannot be ignored.

SaucyRossy

Hi Art have you talked to some one like a Robert Bigelow? It seems like him or some one like him who you can trust would be a good person to help mediate this contract and get you free of the non compete.

There are many people who have power and influence who are your fans. There is nothing wrong with calling in a favor. If you want to be on the air, two more years off the air has to be painful to think about.

I've met Mel Karmaczin  I wouldn't trust him farther than I can throw him but he will make a deal if the right people talk to him

Mystery43

Ditto.. if Sirius claimed to be available in other Countries (besides Canada) then it seems that should help fight the NC.

Right.

If streaming was contingent on you showing up for work...

I too think 'streaming' is the future which further baffles me that you didnt just stream independent from the get go (like a sane Alex Jones site...) rather than sign up for a dying medium and then quitting because the 'streaming' (a very secondary part of said medium) is not up to par.

I wasnt told- Subscribe to Sirius because I am coming back ...Unless streaming isnt right. Its satellite radio dude, the main base is travelers and truckers and folks away from their computers. What about those of us who bought radios Art? Who had no problems? Where do we fit in? It isnt our fault the streaming sucks (which is why we bought RADIOS to listen to Satellite RADIO)- Hell, I could get Sirius on my TV if need be (have not tried yet or anything...) so the platform was there man... If people were canceling in droves because of 'streaming' they were not supportive anyhow as streams (Pirated ones) were already out there and working great. It wasnt like shows were being missed because of this-

Luna

I believe in you Art and I love your shows since 1998! I cant wait for the day you broadcast again. :)

By "religious Bell cultists" I presume you mean:

1) Those who take what Art is saying at face value
2) Those who may be doubtful/skeptical but are willing to give him the benefit of the doubt
3) Those who may not believe him, but have given up fighting and bitching about it
4) Those who are simply over it and have let it go
5) Those who just disagree with you and/or don't want to argue for the sake of arguing, now that everything has pretty much been said and it's a waiting game

Did I miss anyone?

Needless to say, your lengthy and substantial postings here on this site (a whopping 19 posts since you first registered...yesterday) absolutely give your opinions the weight and credibility they deserve. Keep fighting the good fight, brother.

You missed those who believe Art Bell. I just listened to the gabcast from yesterday and it makes sense to me. I do believe Art Bell is not lying nor deceiving.

Art, you really don't owe anymore explanations to people who are, as you said in an earlier post, only going to be making the same fallacious arguments another 5 or 6 pages from here.

But, if you want to, it's great to see you here under any pretext.  Fight on, Art!

Actually they told me it worked Worldwide. I have that in writing. They also said The U.S. and Canada. Yes it
is my fault for not investigating the troubles anybody can read about but I was putting all my effort and time
into everything show related. 20/20 vision is so much more clear when looking into the past.

Yeah I think it would be reasonable to assume their streaming would work. They are a major company and other companies have no issues with video. I.e. Netflix, etc.

Thanks for talking my call last night about Knapp. Its speaks volumes your wouldnt had unretired if he was the c2c  host.

I know I could get a refund... Many of you seem to have had easy success *(minus a $75 fee)- But that isnt really the issue to me (the money.)- I made a deal, a contract and I will honor it...

I told Sirius when I signed up the only reason I was do so was because of AB. Sirius dropped AB so I dropped Sirius. They broke their contract so I have no guilt breaking my contract with them. It is silly to honor a contract that doesn't deliver what I paid for.

Well look at it this way. Everyone on this site who gives a damn can act like Art's research assistant on this matter. Division of labor at its finest. Art, give us marching orders for research to help you and I am sure we can deliver.

Yeah Art it's easy for people to say "why didn't you think of this?" Etc but the fact is they weren't in your shoes and you did what you believed was right and trusted people.

It's not worth it letting people get to you about the past. It's time to move forward and think of solutions to the problem. Thanks for posting here Art. I appreciate it.

That's the thing it is available in other countries. It's just not available to the citizens of those countries. Is a lie by omission still a lie?

Why does Sirius have its issues. Netflix, amazon video, youtube, etc. Stream without issues.
