There certainly are a half dozen are so posters who are dedicated to dissecting everything Art says, line by line, and then attacking it.  Rarely are they positive, maybe just enough to claim they are not what they really are. It is not just an issue of pointing out some obvious flaws Art has as a person, such as not being a businessman, etc., but to make out Art as dishonest and a liar.  It clearly seems to be a mission to them.  These "people" are unrelenting, and from my point of view brazen about their goal to tear Art down.

In an entirely unrleated matter, what is the going rate to be paid as a troll?  Or is it an unpaid position, and simply the result of psychological  issues?

Has it not been the primary preoccupation of every Art Bell fan to dissect what he says, especially since he left CTC?  He encourages this behavior by being cryptic.  Every person you talk about being "brazen" about wanting to tear Art down, wouldn't be in this thread if Art was still putting on a show.  They'd be listening.

You sound incredibly paranoid.

George pays me in baby blood.

This is my last comment to you. Yes of course Sirius XM should be punished. They did not hold up their end of the deal. Remember I told you to read what Art has said? They did not provide the streaming they said they would.

What's that saying my grandmother had in needlepoint on her wall?  "...grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."  ;)

Like that damnable old saying, "you can't change other people's behavior... Just your own."

Dude, I trust Noory about as much as a cat in a Henhouse.

I am not on Noorys 'side' nor am I even taking sides...C2C sucks. It has sucked for many years. Its an infomercial for my Grandma OR a right wing militia Illuminati resistance circle jerk.

Art IS lying because his reasons make no sense (except to the religious Bell cultist's among you)

No. It doesnt make sense to break a contract, throw your fans under the bus and quit your job over streaming and cell phone calls after six weeks...Perhaps it makes sense to you- But...

This was the last gasp of Art Bell. Sadly... But he did this to himself and he is finished. Hope it was worth it over some streaming issues.

I can understand how you feel, and you are obviously disappointed.  It's OK to vent about it. There seems to be a trend on this forum to be suspicious of outsiders /newcomers and to call people "trolls", unless there is a kind of consensus.  Some ( like "Uncle Duke", for example) are just being silly and having some fun at your expense, but others mean it.  I think after listening to GabCast, last night, calling Art a"liar" may be a little extreme.  (Actually the guys on GabCast were more entertaining than most of the talk and entertainment shows on Sirius.)  You should  try to find the humor in what the others here are posting and just laugh it off...

Art is a LIAR...

I didnt sign up with Sirius for streaming, or for Howard Stern, Howard the duck, George Noory or Bob and Tom...I singed for ART BELL (who quit after six weeks)

I bought a radio. Came in great. I listened to a Pirate Stream. Worked great. I watched the shows on You Tube sometimes. Worked great...

Saying Art Bell quit Sirius over 'streaming issues' (again after six weeks) is like saying you are offended by seeing titties after going to a tittie bar and demanding the cover charge back.

Not buying it. And if Art was Sooooo worried about streaming why not just stream from his site to begin with rather than worrying about Satellite RADIO.

-Once again (last time also) I didnt hear "Art bell is coming back, sign up for Sirius XM...but will only stay if streaming works"... Or..."Wanna take a ride...For six weeks if streaming doesnt work."

Excuses are easy to make. Streaming didnt make a bit of difference here except as an excuse for his fans.

Any new developments?
New developments since when? Art wasn't going to persue in fighting the non compete, but he has decided to. He wants to stream his show online, as he believes that internet radio is the future. :)

Since the gab cast. I guess it's still a waiting game.

How old are you DP?

Kyral

I have been a long time fan of Art Bell from many years past. Like most of you here, I was so excited to have Art Bell return after so many years. I signed up for SiriusXM as soon as I heard Art Bell would start his new show in Sept. I signed up for the subscription only to listen to Dark Matter. I am not a Troll, I have been a lurker here for a long time and I have read most of these 400+ pages of this thread.  I had kept my SiriusXM subscription, hoping I would learn here that something was worked out and Art would be back on... until yesterday when I cancelled XM..  I was sad...  I had no problem with the cancellation of my subscription to Sirius, took only a few minutes and they were understanding of my reason. I also never had a problem with the streaming of Dark Matter from my computer with SiriusXM, only a couple of drops that seemed normal to me as I get drops with other online streaming also. I live out in the country and do not have a very high internet speed.
I was very disappointed that Art quit after only 6 weeks, and my feelings were some hurt that Art said the reason for quitting was that his 'fan base' did not continue to pay for XM after the free trial because of streaming problems. I was thinking, "what about his fans like me/us who did pay?".. were we not considered in his decision?
I also felt some bad about what Art was saying about the truckers, as I enjoyed the call-ins they made and I know they were big fans too.
I also enjoyed Jazmunda's calls to Art Bell...
I am over my hurt feelings but can not help but wonder if Art's base fans really had any intention of ever paying for SiriusXM, and used the streaming problems as only an excuse to cancel? I do understand that paying for radio would not be top on priority in this economy for many.
I wish you well Art, you and your family. I do hope like everyone here that someday you will be back.
I just can not listen to George, his show has strayed too far away from what C2C was meant to be. George seems too distracted when interviewing quests, he does not listen...  There is no one like you Art.. to do this type of show. You are the Best !
TO All of you here... I have enjoyed many many of your posts... I have laughed.. and laughed... Thank you for the entertainment...
I did wonder at times if this was really an "Art Bell 'FAN' Forum"...  but I do understand some of the anger...
I will now go back to being a 'lurker'....

Just sent this to Mr. Karmazin at Sirius:

Mr. Karmazin,

I have been an XM subscriber for a long while. I know that Art probably didn’t handle his situation well with you in terms of being patient and working things out, but I would like to request that you would release Art from his non-compete.

It seems that he wants to do a streaming type show at this juncture and this type of medium would not affect your bottom line as most of the loyal Art Bell fans, and there are millions of them, dislike and despise George Noory.

Good letter you sent. I think another good point to add would be that those millions of Art Bell fans will have no problem supporting Sirius XM in the future if they release Art from the NC. Otherwise it will leave us with great disrespect for the company and no doubt cancellations.

Where were the 'Millions' who supported Sirius when Art had a show there? They evidently canceled over 'streaming issue' so I doubt Sirius expects much 'support' from the likes of Bell fans when they (evidently) quit over streaming issues.

If the show wasnt supported enough while it was on the Air, I doubt Sirius will feel they will garner any support for allowing Art out of his NC.

Because we should punish Sirius because Art Bell CHOSE to walk off the job and break his contract...

But give Art a pass because its it's never his fault and he did nothing but try to be there for his fans until ebil Sirius and mustached mustachioed super villein villain George Noory foiled his plans.

"And I would have gotten away with it too if not for you meddling kids!!!!!"

Transcribed some choice Art Bell quotes from the Gabcast (in chronological order.)

"You know I said a long time ago, that if George Knapp, who is a great guy, was the host of Coast to Coast, I wouldn't have even tried to come back with Dark Matter."

"For anybody who thought I wanted to quit, boy is that wrong."

"There was not a viable future with the streaming problems we had."

"Someone did make a comment on Bellgab that I did take to heart, and that was about the Halloween show, but it wasn't because of that comment, it was because that comment was true."

"The reason it was a weak show, is because at that point, my base had pretty well gone, my call screener was unable to call the people who had sent in emails, he called quite a number of them, and then after a while was unable to get through, and you know so yes it was a weak show, and that comment did hit me as being true."

"The non compete covers streaming, the non compete covers virtually every form of communication invented and some of those not yet invented."

"I don't want to go back to terrestrial radio... I just, I don't want to.  No I've had many many offers to do that. I really don't want to do it.  I want to do it on my terms... Right now my terms... I would like to stream, that's number one."

"(Regarding pirate streams) How come everyone else can stream but me?"

"Money I have, my motivation in being on air, is I love it...  And you know I'll say this... My motivation in being on air, is because what's on air now. I really love a quality product... I'm trying to be careful in what I say here.  My goodness, you know I did turn on the radio for a few moments last night at the beginning of the other show, and the first thing I heard is the others show's host suggest (laughs) that a typhoon that was over in Vietnam might be the cause of rain in Hawaii.  And I just kind of shook my head."

"The paranormal deserves better."

"You know I have to admit, I'm the one who laid down the law and said look if we can't stream, if we can't get to my base, if we cant see the future growth of this program then I can't continue with it, and that was on Monday."

"I could have stuck it out, and when I do a show, whatever show it is, I give it 110 percent, I mean I really  work my butt off, and I was willing to continue to do that, but only if we had a way forward, only if we could continue to grow it, and under those conditions we could not continue to grow it.  So I'll put forward that effort trust me guys, I will keep plugging away with all my heart and and all my soul but I want to see that I have a road I can go down that's going to lead somewhere."

"(On the ArtBell.com streaming test) We could have handled as many tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands as would care to stream it."

"I received a message from the management person who enticed me to come to Sirius in the first place which
suggested that the streaming was wide open available in America, Canada, and world wide, and you know that wasn't exactly true."

"I really want to say this. I originally thought you know what George Noory is a nice guy, I really thought that, and I thought that was George's main attribute, that he was a nice guy I have absolutely changed my opinion, and that began about a week prior to the program, when they put on a guest who had said horrible things about me, and then continued to get worse and worse and worse. So my opinion of George Noory is that
he lost his main attribute in my opinion."

"I'm here big enough to admit I made a big mistake by getting involved with another large company, what I should have done is go to streaming in the first place.  but I thought here's SiriusXM, I thought gosh you know they came at me and said Art we've got satellite radio all over the US and Canada, it was very tempting, we've got streaming that covers the US, Canada, and the world, which turned out not to be quite so true, and I thought it was a good opportunity away from terrestrial radio, so I'd give it a shot, my mistake I should have gone directly to streaming."

"No I did not (have legal representation)."

Excellent, thanks.

Yeah, honestly the only way to win is not to play.
That's true.  Once in awhile I'm a little bored anyway, and since I'm not really invested in winning, I give myself a pass for a bit of poor impulse control here and there.   ;)

Art Bell

Here is the truth, no I did not check out the state of their streaming. Before I even
joined Sirius/XM I was told they have great streaming to the U.S. Canada AND Worldwide.
In fact I have that in writing. It was my own fault for assuming it worked correctly. I should
have checked but I am a Talk Host, not an investigator.

Well Art my friend, you have a basis for a breach of contract argument then. You really do need to lawyer up and fight this on so many levels.
