Is Art lying about the content length of his program?

So he says on the dream show last night that he has a 4 hour program, which is about 3:30 of conversation, but all the *ahem* streams are just slightly over 3 hours (and include CCrane commercials) - so that must mean there is about an hour of commercials, not half an hour, right?   Am I missing something?

I am not complaining - 3 hours is great, I certainly wish there were more, I just wonder why Art says he gets 3:30 out of a 4  hour show when it seems as if there is much less than that.

I'm always downloading the program and it's always about 3:30.  Of course that includes Art's Crane stuff but he does them so well I don't count them.  Better than listening to Dave's Carnivora crap.

I think he's hiding something dark and deep, possibly related to time travel or Jimmy Hoffa.

When I download it I get 3:30, if you take out the C crane stuff its probably like 3:22 or so. Which is pretty dang good.

Unlike c2c which is riddled with commercials its almost unlistenable due to that fact alone.

c2c 'hours' are about 38-40 mins. I think we're doing ok.

Also remember bumper music.

It's because they edit out the Sirius commercial breaks. When possible, most people don't want to sit through them.

I don't mind listening to Art do a live-read for CCrane. Sometimes he leads into the live-read with whatever subject is at hand. In fact, I'd be a little annoyed if they started editing out the CCrane ads. I kind of like them.

Gnoory's after dark commercial was way worse. That shit used to seriously bother me having to hear Noory in the middle of an Art show. Those commercials were terrible.

More like 32 mins.

The bumper music adds quite a bit and I see the youtube recordings they edit out the commercial breaks as well as most of the bumper music breaks, those are about 3hr,9min per show.
The editted sirius on-demand archives still have all the bumper music, only the non-Art Bell commercial breaks are removed, so those are about 3hr,30min per show.

Yep.  Art Bell commercials are great.   Only rival I can think of was Paul Harvey.  I still have this inexplicable urge to buy Wells-Lamont work gloves.

.......AND..........all those bumpers are removed, so that the YouTubez don't have the auto-copyright algorithms detecting and pulling down the content.  This forces Sirius to have to have a team looking at youtube and HERE for content....just saying....

And with C2C's hack host, it becomes completely unlistenable.

I am curious, was that a knock at my writing?  In an attempt to grammar police me?  I only ask to make sure I didn't lose the context there somehow.

AMEN! to that.

The worst are the Somewhere in Time Shows with all the "looking for the truth?" and all that shit. I throw the entire show into sound forge and edit out all that crap. I even boost the 1k to get a lil 90s am radio sound while skimming off some of the bottom end keeping it sounding vintage AB. I hate the overloaded chest tones in talk radio IE Arts shows in the late 2000s. Leave the Big Balls sound to Ross Mitchell.
