Hey Jaz, I think you meant F-18, not F-16.

Did you ever see a RAAF F-111 do the flame thrower stunt?  They'd dump raw fuel, then ignite it by going to afterburner. Damned impressive, an evil looking flame as long as the jet itself roaring out the ass end of the a/c.  Very cool.

You are indeed right. They all look and sound the same to me. Those jets are so loud you can hear them coming from miles away. By the time you locate them in the sky you'd already be toast.

I'm not sure what type of jet it was but I saw that stunt at an air show here a couple of years ago.

i had one blow by me on my dirt bike once.
we were going down a canyon and the jet was running the canyon. i heard it over my mostly unmuffled dirt bike (spark arrestor on a race muffler), wondered WTF then realized it was a jet.
