In the future, I may end up doing these live to avoid the editing issue entirely.

Please don't try to rush productions for my sake. Whatever fits best in your schedule is best for all. Most likely the newest will be as good as the previous. Working up to 5 hours/day before or after a Grand Master live w/unscreened calls is no easy matter. Most likely amateur radio experience as an extra class is necessary to get an idea of how to handle the big guests. WABC was the station I listened to as a kid most for current music, very commercial, but later evolved to WIOQ and WYSP out of Philly. The latter 2 were gone by 1980 and me living in So CA for 3 yrs. Have lots of hours of reel-to-reel recordings though, and sometimes fell asleep between album sides. Back in the days a fully equipped mid size new car was $2500 and gas was ~ $0.37/gal.

so should we download all your podcasts for archival puposes , so when clearchannel buys you up we can still have those shows instead of a "bateman - somewhen in time" shows 1x a week ?

Tarbaby

I now have the show in my iPad Podcast subscriptions but have some catching ujp to do.

Rasputin

Glad to see this is on ITunes now!

So this show is on iTunes now? Excellent. Will I find it in the gay porn section?

Smartass.

Look for the Xtube account. The "dark" in this case refers to interracial stuff.

That's what he said.

In all seriousness you are occupying my Art Bell void.

Kudos.

Tonight. Tobias McGriff is my first guest.  ;D

http://www.darkweekend.net/

Just finished listening to this show this evening.  I only found out yesterday about your very cool show - too wrapped up only reading the GN sucks thread.  I thoroughly enjoyed Dark Weekend  and am looking forward to hearing all the subsequent shows (in order) I've missed.  Congratulations!! You are professional, prepared, ask the right questions with no sickening sweet, self-congratulatory crap ala George Noory.  You have a fan here.  Keep up the good work.

...and to think from colon blow to this.  Nice! :)

Maybe you can have wells on  8)

Now only if we can get this snobby NY'er to do 5 nights a week....

Thank you for noticing btw Bateman.  I'm sure you were the only one.

Or maybe do a broadcast from someone's herb garden and call it "Somewhere in Thyme."

....I'll let myself out.

10PM tonight, Bateman? I'm really looking forward to this show.

I'm never sure how to respond to praise like this, other than to say thank you. Thank you.

Thanks much. I care, to the point of obsession, about putting out quality & improving as much as I possibly can.

What's that? I can't hear over the sound of the tinkling piano & my 5th scotch.

(And you're welcome.)

Alright, this is starting to look like a Falkie post.

Heh. Did you hear the Maryanne Minute on the GabCast a few weeks ago?

The show that's airing on the stream tonight is a little weird, it's shorter than usual (52 mins) but there's a longer second half I might be able to get up in the next day or so. This one is James Carman, producer of a documentary called 'The Hidden Hand' and Dr. David Jacobs on abduction.

I'm interviewing Fr. Maginot tonight, on the exorcisms in Indiana & I might be able to get Keith to play that late late tonight since I should be done around 10PM.

And tomorrow is Lyn Buchanan.

Long story short, there's about 5 hours of content coming, it's just a matter of how quickly I can put it out.

woo hoo! Looking forward to it.

Shame on you for even entertaining that thought.
The road you're on is plenty interesting and very good to hear. After all, someone's got to interview the writer of a book, story, or tale no matter how new or old. ... I already have my stick and marshmallows ready for the campfire. ...
I'm a time traveller. Tomorrow a new day proves it.

Question. For some reason when I go to the Dark Weekend website, and to the SoundCloud DW page, I'm only seeing the last show being the one with Dr. Aubrey De Grey of Jan 18 (nice show by the way) but I see on this thread that there have been more shows? ps: I liked the DeLoren show. I'm going to get that book. What an interesting story. Keep up the great work!

Thank yeeww. If you just click on the "dark weekend" part of the title, it should take you out to the full list: https://soundcloud.com/dark-weekend

Thanks for quick reply! Yeah, I clicked there and get to the same Soundcloud page- but last show that is shown is the Dr. de Grey show about longevity. I'm using Firefox and have cleared cache etc. Who knows? Anyway, I'll keep trying in the future days. Keep up the good work. I really enjoy the show. An interviewer who asks good questions! What a concept! Some could learn.

That's the last one I see as well, and I feel like I'm missing me some DW!

Glad to see it is not just me. I don't know the copyright issues etc, but maybe someone post on YouTube or on archive.org so those of us who can't listen live can get the show? It is thus far a really good show and great interviewer.

Stitcher too: http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/dark-weekend?refid=stpr

all the SoundCloud files look ok to me, can someone take a screenshot & show me what's wrong?

bateman

Also, just wrapped up with Fr. Mike & I'm gonna try to get that out to you late tonight. Creepy as hell. See what you think.

Heather Wade

Looking forward to it bateman.  Really I am, not fucking trying to be nice, ok?   ;D

Soundcloud, Stitcher and the homepage display the most recent show as the Jan 18 interview with Aubrey de Grey.
If that's correct and nothing has been added since then, there's no problem. Sorry for any confusion on my end.
