tnx, he is my all time fav author, and i read ALOT, Bukowski was a special guy and the reason i picked Barfly is because he wrote the book and the movie.
Barfly is one of those movies that just stay with you.
Fav Buk book is still Post Office, maybe Pulp.
Also if you haven't seen it Factotum is also a good Buk flick

You wont regret it, Bukowski is actually in the movie as a customer in one of the bars.
This is how Buk lived, Shawn Penn wanted to be the lead but Buk met him and said he thought he was a asshole

So Mickey Rourke got the lead, best performance of his career imho
