Be nice! Captain Kangaroo hasn't done anything to deserve this treatment!

Has he?

You'll just have to ask Mr. Green Jeans.  ;)

gabcast tonight?

MV cancelled the GabCast due to it's overwhelming popularity. In other words he was jealous of our tens of dollars and millions of fake russian fans. PM him to show your disappointment. Please only curse in Spanish.

The GabCast may or may not return next week. Stay tuned .....

I heard on the grapevine, that it was Unscreened Caller driving a hard bargain on her remuneration on her accommodation package, i.e. Cardboard box, for her appointment as your producer of poop stories. She put in an embargo of all poop stories and as almost all the show is poop based in content, you didn't have a show.

Only sayin.

Yorkshire pud

Yes, he really is speaking like this.

A future guest presenter on GC?

Does anyone have any suggestions for topics you'd like to hear on The GabCast?

More paranormal talk? Less? Which topics?

More talk about the forum? What in particular?

Would you like special guests? Perhaps a different forum member each show?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I want hardcore gossip and trash talk about specific members, by name. You should recite and respond to active threads post-by-post, adding your thoughts and insults. Tell us who you hate (Jackstar) and who you love (George Drooly) and how annoyed you are at people who post questions or topics already covered on the board a million times, years earlier.

Soup.  Recipes for soup.  Places you've gone that have had good soup.  Soup & sandwich combination suggestions.  Soup concerns like if you should serve crackers, or bread with it.  And what's up with the sour-cream dollup on top - is it still in fashion?  Is soup by itself a meal, or not?  And of course, how soup has impacted your perspective on life, and soup.

I once had this pumpkin soup in San Francisco that was served in a sour dough bowl. I've never seen that anywhere again. This was in 1996 and I still talk about it til this day.

That segment will go down well. We'll definitely have to play our "The GabCast is not responsible for your feelings" disclaimer.

In all seriousness we did discuss the discussing of posters on The GabCast and decided that there was too much butthurt associated with it. Incidentally, MV encouraged us to do it so he only has himself to blame if a flame war erupts.

See, soup is a universal conversation-starter.  Just go with it, and the time will just fly by.  Like that winter's night I had a creamy pea-soup while listening to the storm outside .... oops, see it's already working it's conversational magic on me.

Special/forum guests.. Such as AO. As long as they're eloquent and can put things across. For example, I'd like to hear Uncle Duke discuss his sphere of expertise.

No one batshit crazy because it will just be a stick poking freak show.

Paranormal stuff as long as it's someone who has real experiences, not someone who simply recites YT vids.

Maybe a 'met someone reasonably well known, but not as a fan and had a great/not great time' feature.

A Forum expert on some hobby; and have them answer questions for people calling in; how to get involved/ next stage/ 'how do I get this to work?' etc. Money saving tips on said hobby. Say it's hiking in the hills; Recommended routes, places to visit/stay; best buy with kit/clothing etc.

Pumpkin soup is sooo easy to make, and it's almost always wonderful. Try it.

I was at some Panera (sp) clone sandwich shop. I ordered a turkey sandwich. It came with cranberry and pumpkin spread on the bun. I cried a little.

Yeah, they make chicken salad with APPLES in it!  Bleeeeeeccchhhh.

I'd like to suggest Bateman as a guest. It would be interesting to hear about how he began in pod and his past experiences on the air. I also second Uncle Duke as a future guest as well. Also, both Astroguy and Expat would make great guests, let's hear their personal experiences dealing with and running sites about bad astronomy.

Hell, I'm sure interviews among the hosts would be interesting too. Take an hour to get Onan's opinions on the current trends and habits in fad eating, how technology plays a role in medicine (3D printing organs omg) and how that will change our perspectives on life as such things become more ubiquitous in our future. After his trip to LV, get Jaz' opinions on the difference in culture between America and Australia! You could easily get a show's worth of material out of that. You could also interview Jaz about poop

They're all excellent ideas.

Unfortunately I'm all out of poop .... stories.

haha
Well in that case the next gabCast honors poop when Jaz goes live on air, making the flush at the end of the show all the more significant.

saucerlike

I really enjoyed the segment with agent:orange, more of that type of thing (obviously not all the time) would be great, including expat & astroguy.  I can't say I truly understand more than 15% of what they're talking about but I love the Bad Astronomy stuff.

Just about anything you guys decide to do is good with me, every show gets me LMAO at some point.

Soup.  Recipes for soup.....

Didn't realize how drunk I was last night.  My soup musings seemed like a good idea at the time.   ::)

Anyway, my sober mind now wishes to contribute.  I like when you run with ideas from various threads, maybe quoting some of the better posts that some of us have missed etc.  For instance you could pluck some hot topics from the Politics thread, which some of us avoid generally, but might still find interesting discussion.  Or you could check out zeebo's much-celebrated "Which books kicked your butt?" thread, and give your thoughts.

Special guests are cool too, focusing on a particular area of their expertise/interests.

How about a special 10-min. wild-card segment just taking random questions from the chat room.

Also, more Taintco commercials.

Soup is always a good unless "a soup like substance" is used to describe that thing oozing out of your butt.

Politics is generally avoided on The GabCast for obvious reasons.

This is definitely an avenue we would like to pursue.

This sounds like a great idea. Ideally I would like more callers. Where has our base gone? Only truckers and Aussies seem to be calling.

Ok, bad example.   I avoid the topic myself, so I don't end up ranting at people I actually like here, or vice versa.

How about a Somewhere In Time - Random stupid things on your mind edition?  That beast has almost 10k replies, just pick a random page and - discuss, revisiting random things of yore.
