Ok I a a little bit late on this but whos your favorite team.....(SteelBot we know you love the Hawks)

I am a Capitals fan, I guess I would be what you consider a bandwagon fan, I never really paid attention to hockey until I married a nice canadian girl who played and got me into it.
I have tried learning to play, it was funny seeing a 35 year old out on the ice for the first time, but my extend trip to AF put a hold on that.


So go ahead and list your favorite teams and maybe we can have some fun talking smack to one another.

Well damn way to steel my ThUnDer! - Yes I'm a Blackhawks fan, but I enjoy watching all hockey, I like watching Edmonton, Boston, Caps, Canadians, and a few other's here and there.

I try and watch all the hockey I can plus I listen to XM's hockey channel on long road trips and at work.
I guess I jumped in the deep end.

A couple of years ago the wife and I bought Season tickets to the Caps, I loved going but we weren't getting home until after 1 am and I had to get up at 6am to get to work and the Ted raised the price by 20% so no more for me.

I have not watched a hockey game for years but I used to play street hockey and back then my favorite team was the PITTSBURGH PENGUINS back when MARIO LEMIEUX and JAROMIR JAGR were tearing shit UP.

Well that's a good choice, Mario OWNS the penguins now, and Jagr got to play in the Stanley Cup last year - so as a fan of hockey that's pretty good!

What I don't understand is why Canada changed its flag from the Red Ensign to the Maple Leaf flag.  The Leafs were like 4th in a 6-team league the year of the change.  The Montreal Canadiens won the cup.  Why didn't Canada go to a Habs flag?

Penguins fan here since '91, '92ish...  Love the sport, have had center ice for several years now and I must say I really enjoy the Flyers' putrid start to the season.  I don't play, though I've thought about joining a rec league. Maybe if I quit smoking (not likely)...  I do go to public skate pretty often during ice season though, it's good exercise.

Because a) the Leafs rule.

And b) the Habs logo is a CH. Which, if you have been to Quebec, you know stands for "Center Hice".

Nice puck, I never saw that one.   Did you get a copy of the Star's CD from the Stanley Cup win?   It was pretty good.  I used to always play that on my way to the rink...

I don't recall getting the Stanley Cup CD. I have a VHS tape.

After the Stars won the cup, I was so wired I couldn't sleep. I stayed up all night, and then went to the airport looking for them. I did not find them in the terminal, so I drove to the Stars Center in Valley Ranch and waited for them there with fifty or so others. But only a very few players showed up, as Coach Gainey took them from the airport to a hotel.

I still have my Starter Stars jersey that I bought at JC Penney a couple of years after they got here. I will keep wearing that to games until it wears out. I eventually will get used to the new Stars colors and logo. But, for now, I still rock the original Dallas colors and logo!!

Totally with you there, although as far as the jerseys go,  I liked the alternatives when they introduced them, and I think they're still my favorite over the original.    Not at all a big fan of the new stuff.   I was watching the last game at my house with a couple people, and it was taking so long before Hull "scored" haha that goal, everyone went home.   It was great though.   I'm in Washington, so no one else to really cheer with at the time.

I only start to watch in the 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs.  I cheer always for the Canadian teams.
If the Canadian teams are wiped out I cheer for the underdog. It's a very easy and satisfying formula.
