Our current Gov Jerry 'Moonbeam' Brown has spent his entire career in the government employee union's pocket.  He was a 2 term governor years ago from about 1975-1983.  He signed the legislation then that gave these rats the legal right to strike.

Even FDR didn't think the public employees should be able to strike.  The various agencies are supposed to be essential services only government can provide.  Assets like Bart are owned by the taxpayers.  When these overly generous contracts are negotiated, it is Labor on one side of the table and a few political hacks sent out to above all secure the votes of the union members in exchange for a lush deal.  The taxpayers - the people paying for it - are never represented at the bargaining table. 

If the courts weren't filled with judges appointed by these same hack politicians owned by these employee unions, these contracts and the whole process would be struck down as collusion.


Getting back to Bart.  Last time around, 'management' agreed not to train replacement workers in case of a strike and in return the union agreed not to strike.  We can see how that is that working out.  The Media - being the ally of the Dems and their friends the public workers union and all - aren't even reporting that.


The great Ronald Reagan was faced with a similar problem early in his administration with the Air Traffic Controllers.  He simply decertified their union (Patco) and fired them. 

I call on Jerry Brown to do the same with Bart and their union, then get legislation passed outlawing public workers to strike in Calif.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you, but getting Jerry Brown to do anything that even slightly resembles actual reason and justice, will never happen.

California is the model for what happens to societies that let emotionally stunted liberals run the government in exchange for entitlements - I have $50 that say California with be the next "too big to fail" scam that will be dumped onto the shoulders of Middle Class Working Americans.

I'm actually contemplating moving to Texas - I'm not crazy about the scenery, the weather, the nutcase enclave of Austin, and a few other things, but the rest of the state isn't that bad, Corpus Christi has good fishing, and in all seriousness, if civil unrest breaks out in this country I want to live alongside people that share more of my social and political philosophies than that oppose them. I don't want to have to worry about shooting in both directions at the same time and Texas will mitigate that possibility at least more so than most other places that are infected by nutcase political philosophies.

There was a large turnout today to protest the San Antonio Police Department tactic of harassing Law Abiding Gun Owning Citizens exercising their right to open carry.

I realized when I was about 14-yrs old that it was a fatal mistake to view those on the left as otherwise good people that just have bad ideas - and recent events in this country, in particular the last 5-years, and moreover the last 35-years, have proven that intuition correct. They are not good people with different ideas, they resent America and the principles upon which it was founded, and they want to kill it, in spite of their lies to the contrary -- but lying about motives and goals is a foundational principle of liberalism because if they were honest about what they desire, they would have been voted out of existence long ago.

The true problem is that right thinking America voters have been too nice for too long, giving in to every whimsical demand in the interest of compromise, something the left never does.

I guarantee you that before all of our lives are over, these assholes will be trying to legalize pedophilia - mark my words.

I am done compromising and I want some ground back.

I think you are mostly correct on both counts.  There are plenty of good people that vote Democrat - mostly because they still think of the party as being on the side of the little guy and they feel good about all the handout programs.  Most people in this country no longer know their history and are economically illiterate - both of which play into the hands of the 'Progressives'.   Which is why neither are covered well in the government schools anymore.

I know a lot of people who think they are informed because they watch a little TV news and maybe pick up a paper or magazine once in awhile, when most other people don't even do that.


As far as what happened, yes, the good people of this country were not vigilant and let the people who want to destroy us pass legislation little by little and slowly take control of our institutions.  As a country, we were too nice to them.  We went along instead of having confrontations.

San Francisco, California, and the West were Conservative Republican strongholds not that long ago.  Contrary to how Conservatives, Republicans, and religious people are portrayed by their enemies on the Left, they are very open and accepting, willing to live and let live.  They are the ones who believe in Freedom for all.  That's why gays and others who didn't feel like they fit in came to SF and California in the first place.

Now that the Left controls much of it, there is no more tolerance for anyone else.  Yet they lie and claim to be the tolerant ones, and say the Conservatives are not.  They really hate the religious, because the religious point out things people do that they think are wrong.  Instead of disagreeing and ignoring it, the Left just seethes with hatred for the religious.  It's a big country and they can certainly find intolerant Conservatives, intolerant religious people, anything they go look for - but the lie is when they hold those people up as typical.

The Left.  So dishonest and disgusting.  And dangerous to our country and our Freedom.
