I searched, I can't find it. How was Noory picked?

Agent Orange asked the question a couple of years ago.  I can't find a response.   How did Coast to Coast get George?  Did Art have a hand in picking him or was it Premier itself that did these years of damage?

Noory used to be better. He was the part timer. He did weekends. Then Art relenquished the show. I have the "I am retiring" show on my desktop upstairs. Art said in a supportive manner "George gets it"... I was always confused by that. I kinda thought Art felt like he was caught with a hooker and wanted to pass her off as a cousin.

I seem to remember Art telling everyone that premiere basically made Art say something about George when he handed the show over, and Art never having met the guy said "He gets it" to be supportive. Little did Art know that in his attempt to make a vague compliment he narrowed in on the exact problem that would emerge over the next ten years: Noory just doesn't get it.

I do remember him being a weekend/guest host, and I vaguely recall the "he gets it" comment.   But basically, no one knows for sure (except the employees of Premier) how Noory was absolutely picked as the successor, it sounds like.

Why did Art have Ol' Strokemouth introduce him at his Radio Hall of Fame induction?

Decision was made "unilaterally" by Craig Kitchin at Premiere, according to Rollye James. I've also heard they initially offered it to Punnett, but he turned it down due to his morning show.

.

RJ has the best memory in he business and has good connections.  I would take her word as gospel.

Ian is a little shit with a passing interest in c2c material.  I don't think it would had lasted this long under him.

There's a lengthy email she sent to someone explaining the whole situation, I'll see if I can dig it up.

Yeah I found him to be unlistenable.

Wow, that was lengthy but quite interesting.   She definitely sounds like she knows her stuff.   I'd love to know more about the politics and sales of a radio show.   It was a great read, but it saddens me a bit that whomever that was to made it public against her wishes.

I'll be lazy here and ask, is she still on SiriusXM?   Might be fun to listen to once I've caught up with Art's stuff.

Art recently posted he had no hand in picking Noory, it was all PremRat's choice.
Probably Noory was the cheapest and biggest ass-kisser and yes-man for PremRat, that was their main criteria...

Yes, Dave was their ideal candidate.

Yup. As Rollye said:

QuoteI strongly suspect the choice of George (made unilaterally by Kraig Kitchin at Premiere) was based solely on his malleable nature. In George they have everything they want, if their goal is to have someone so grateful for their job that they'll never complain.  He is and he won't.

Cheapo Jorch means more money to outfit the G6.

So they can fly in style to Dave's "studio" in Hawaii.
