Prank calling Art

Now call me crazy but I think prank calling Art cheapens the overall effect of the show. I know its going to happen but I thought us Bellgabbers would be held to a higher regard. Don't get me wrong, I thought some were pretty hilarious.(bateman) It just seems to take away from the show when we know its going to happen, example: The first time traveler call...I mean come on...Pranking Noory is one thing, but Art? Really?
I don't know, I'll probably get chewed for this thread but I don't really give a fuck...This is my opinion.

I don't encourage pranks on Art. Having said that I didn't take that call as a prank on Art. It was more a swipe at George which I encourage wholeheartedly.

Well as evidenced by the Multiple postings by casioson - his claims are it's a true story...I say let the video of the call/and the call speak for itself, plus the re-lapse in timetraveling judgement to not want to tell millions of people his "other" stories' but has over 150k of pictures of himself up on flicker for the entire internet to see...LOL - I call bs as well, but like all things - we're each allowed our own opinions.

LOL - i am also unsure how to feel about it, the Bateman call was hilarious - But I too worry about prank calling.  I genuinely have decent questions I want to ask, not mock Art or his guests, I'll mock them here - I ask a question, and if they can't answer then so be it - if they give me a smoke blown answer, and I'm allowed to stay on the phone with em, I'll debate em.  But just the same, I will probably not call again for a long while - just not my thing to be a part of it in that manner all the time... I got my fun, no need to keep pressing the luck so to speak.

I don't think the odd prank call is bad.  Heck, a time travelers line is an open invitation to prank callers.  It can add a lot of humor when the timing is right.  Moderation is the key word for me. It would be a bummer, if it happened all the time.  The best prank calls are the one's when you can't really tell if their prank calls or not.  Pranks are a regular part of life and like many other things have to be expected once in a while.

Bateman's call was funny.  Remember, no one but Bellgab knows that it was a prank.   Art may not even know unless he completely reads through all the posts.   He obviously thought the call itself was funny because he laughed.   It made for good radio.   Everyone gets entertained.  I think that's what he wants.  If you prank call him with something really lame or rude/crude, I think he'll be ticked, but an occasional funny call - that especially the masses wouldn't realize was a ruse - I don't think would upset him.

I don't think Robert Casio thought his call was a prank either.  I'm not saying I believe he time travelled, but again, it made for interesting radio, and Art seemed to enjoy that call too.   I would say for open lines night, Bellgab was what, 3 for 3?

I think we should nominate Bateman to handle all live call-in goofing from Bellgab.  I can see everyone wanting to get in on the game and turning this into a big joke.  Art knows we are here and acknowledges it regularly.  Let's not wear out our welcome trying to be funnier than the next guy.

I don't care for the trolling Dave on Art's show. I mean, I get it, but I'd rather that guy fall into obscurity and people forget he ever existed.
