Are you listening to find out truth, just listening for entertainment, or for some other reason?

Entertainment, learning something new & Art Bell. 3 simple reasons.

That about sums it up, but also, I don't watch TV and I'm sick of music.

because tv is awful and the shows, especially when are is on, are entertaining but also sometimes has good information, breaking news, and interesting thoughts. And for the people who call in! Classic.

Yeah, what Bateman said.
I like that Art hits upon subjects that I find entertaining as well as thought provoking.

Like many people here (I think), I grew up on Ripley's Believe It or Not and In Search Of. I think Art Bell is the successor to these shows and I enjoy thinking about mysteries.

It's what my tooth fillings pick up best.

I'm guessing you already know about Lucille Ball's incident during which her dental fillings were picking up radio transmissions which led to the capture of japanese spies during World War II.

Yes, MFM, I sort of cut my "paranormal teeth" (it's not a perfect metaphor) on those shows, too.  I especially recall the feeling of anticipation when sitting down to watch during the first season of In Search Of:  Leonard Nimoy's presence and voice (like Art's) brought importance and gravity to sometimes seemingly silly topics.

Knapp time is pretty wild, too, so I hear.

I have always been interested in the paranormal. I just happened to turn on my radio in the middle of the night and heard some guy talking about bigfoot and ghosts. That's all it took for me. I made an effort to catch the following nights show in its entirety and it was the infamous Mels hole episode....Thus explaining my handle here on bellgab. God that was along time ago. I was just a young teenager back then, now i'm 29 with a daughter thats turning 8...time flies.

You think 29 sounds old?  Try 51 on for size (my daughter is 12, by the way).  Time, she certainly does fly....  I've never heard the legendary Mel's Hole episode; my understanding is that the proof is pretty damn thin.
