Boys On The Bus

You likely saw the clip in which three Black boys attacked a White boy on a school bus. The old bus driver eventually called the police after he yelled at the kids, but he said that he couldn't enter the fray due to district rules that prohibited him from such intervention. There were over forty other students aboard the bus, and none of them helped (some kids taped the brutal beating). What would you have done if you would have been a student there?

Me? I'd have curled up in a ball and begged them to stop hitting me.

I was referring to the bystanders, but that's fine. If I was the kid, I would train for a few years in case I didn't receive heartfelt, sincere apologies from the lively rascals who used me for a human punching bag. Call it preparation and training for any such future situations. It very well may come in handy if the boy attends college next to a ghetto full of Black racists who wrongly think that all lone White boys are fair game for wilding practice....but enough about me.

I, to a degree was that kid in the bus. I lived in Vancouver BC until I was six and then my Dad had the crazy idea that he wanted to be a cowboy in a farming community in northern BC. Little did I know that I was gonna be the "city slicker" called "DUDE" by all the farm kids who all where strong as an ox and knew how to fight any time and all the time, even the girls.

Also, when your name is LANCE! that reeeeaaaally doesn't help matters. (Lance did a dance all the way to France with ants in his pants without missing a glance) < had a lot of that stuff. I had to learn to fight really fast in a big way, my Dad had me in karate really quick and after awhile I was a farm kid who was Strong as an ox and had a brown belt (next to black) before I was 11. Even though I became one of the farm kids I was the one who would welcome and watch out for the newcomers.

If me the little kid pre farm boy was on that bus? I most likely would have cried and prayed for the kid while screaming at them to stop. Thus getting my own ass beatin but real good tell you what!

OH! and the teachers were bullies as well because like cops they were "stationed" there and NOT happy about it. My Dad actually had to pay a visit to my fourth grade teacher "Frank Brown"... don't know what Dad did but that teacher got real nice.

That reminds me of growing up in a house with two older sisters. Between them and our big "playful" dog, I'm lucky to be in one piece.
