Anyone nervous/excited for the finale?
I'm both! I don't want this exceptional show to end but, I'm glad that they are not milking it with another season. I am pleased at the pace of the story in the last 8 episodes.
I have been trying to work out what Vince Gilligan's clue of "Wood working" means. I've decided that I'm not smart enough to understand cryptic clues.
I hope someone can find a happy ending in all the chaos and death to come. I once hoped it was Walt, but that seems very unlikely now. I believe the only person on the path of redemption is Jessie. Now that he has experienced true evil without any mercy, his drive for revenge is likely gone. Does he understand that the only good move is escape. Not only from the Nazis dungeon but escape from the life of a criminal and all of its side effects and associates.
I just don't know if Jessie is smart enough to see the obvious path.
Walt will go after Uncle Jack and Todd but will he free Jessie or kill him?

Did Gilligan say wood working or woodwork? I can see woodwork as a clever allusion to a coffin, or the old saying about things coming out of the woodwork. On the other hand, wood working sounds like an old high school subject like carpentry. I'm thinking coffin, but then there's the big 'HEISENBERG' painted on Walt's living room wood paneled wall, too.

Vince Gilligan isn't making this any easier.

VG said Wood Working. It was right after he confirmed the rumors about "Felina" being an anagram for Finale. Maybe "Wood Working" is an anagram.
All I got was "Wrong ID Woko" or "I do wrong ok, wo".  or "WW Doing Kroo" Probably not right! :) ;)
Some people speculated it has something to do with Jessie's NA story about the ornate wood box he built in High School that he was proud of. Then he later sold it for drugs.
A  coffin might be too obvious, but with Gilligan you never really know.

Hmmmm, didn't Uncle Jack refer to Lydia as a woodchipper?

Yup, a certain part of her anatomy.

Jack is driven by Lydia to take his crew and kill Skyler and Walt Jr., then Walt comes back to retaliate, He kills Jack and Todd and the rest through cool chemistry, then Jesse kills Walt, adopts Brook and disappears to Bolivia with Brook and the baby and 100 mil.

Sounds good.

That's so sad, but you know, I really like these guys. They could've written the kid off, but they didn't, and they certainly didn't have to let him in on the finale. Kudos to them. I think JJ Abrams did the same for a terminally ill Trek fan who got to see the rough cut of 'Into the Darkness' as his last wish. Stories like these are a welcome relief from the usual Hollywood self-absorbed, entitled behavior.
It would be cleansing to do for someone like the kid in the midst of spinning all this tragedy. Says a lot about the producers, writers and actors of the show.  It could get seriously dark working on that project.

And is Hewell still in that apartment?
Maybe Badger lets him out...

But not before pitching his Star Trek/Star Wars mashup for a couple of hours until Hewell is begging to be put out of his misery.

You are funny!  I think it was Star Trek cuz it involved their transporter.  Mad magazine did a funny visual in one of their satires with all the body parts mid- attached back in the day.

Time for me to drop out of this thread as I won't be able to watch this episode until I get home from work tonight.

Spoiler

"Wood Working" anagram = King Woodrow
King George + Woodrow Willson (WW reference in the book)
WW1 era where former enemies (USA and England) combine forces to defeat Germany (Nazis)

Interesting..

I don't know if this helps, but it'll be available on Netflix and iTunes tomorrow.

The single episode or the full 8 episode season?

Jesse would need redemption to live, and kids are his only way out.  He lives with Brooks or the baby.  How can any other major character make it?  Jail or death for the white supremacists, Skyler - Lydia and the Grey Matter folks are irrlevant enough they could make it.

Episode 16. I read so many BB articles today that I can't remember where I read this. Sorry.

That's cool. :)
From what I just read the new BB episodes will only be available the next day for UK and overseas viewers. Here in the US, we will have to wait for a couple months before part 2 is on Netflix.
The Walking Dead season 3 wasn't on Netflix until just a few days ago.
At least I have something to watch after BB tonight.

Thank you Vince Gilligan!
I'm glad there was not a Sopranos ending!
Brilliant series!
I am not disappointed at all. Everything was wrapped up and "true to the characters".
The Baby Blue song at the end was perfect too!!

The song is by Badfinger.

Thanks!
It is going on my mp3 player tonight!

Lyrics for Baby Blue by Badfinger:

Guess I got what I deserve
Kept you waiting there, too long my love
All that time, without a word
Didn't know you'd think, that I'd forget, or I'd regret

The special love I have for you
My baby blue

All the days became so long
Did you really think I'd do you wrong
Dixie, when I let you go
Thought you'd realize, I would know, I would show

The special love I have for you
My baby blue

What can I do, what can I say?
Except that I want you by my side
How can I show you? Show me a way
Don't you know, the times I tried

Guess that's all I have to say
Except the feeling just gets stronger everyday
Just one thing, before I go
Take good care, baby let me know, let it show

The special love you have for me
My Dixie dear

I was around when this song was released, and even as a kid who didn't even have his license yet, every time I heard it even back then I felt this tremendous nostalgic heartache. Now, when a grass-green kid of 15 or so feels those waves of bittersweet emotion about loss and choices and roads not taken, I'd say the songwriter hit his target. Today, when I'm old enough to have actually experienced several different varieties of loss, I still get that butterflies-in-the-stomach feeling every time I hear this song. What talents. And what a shame that there were two suicides in this band. A fact doubtless not lost on Vince when choosing the music.

couldn't believe how perfect that song was.  It goes way back for me too.  I like when my contemporaries are producing the entertainment because I get the fine grained references.  Even the fact that the band was called HARbinger.  So perfect.  I had no idea that song had that dark history.  Always liked it.  Wikipedia has a very good article.

The whole finale surprised us and was satisfying.

+1 & This and any other form of internet agreement.

RIP Walter and BB. You will be missed.

Beautiful, fitting ending. Thank you, Vince Gilligan. The acting was, as always, superb.

Autocorrect is responsible for many more mistakes than ever would have been made without it.

I have never watched a single ep. of this series. It just didn`t interest me in the slightest. But I really like Vince. Met him years ago, and he`s as down to earth as they come. I loved his work on the X-Files.
